Re: Where will you be election day (September 14th)

However, it's ok for a women to broadcast to the nation that the man is a misogynist ? The pot calling the kettle black:!:

Seems like the misogynist card comes out every time she cops a bit of criticism - Not the best way to get your point across!

Leaders need to lead.

The misogynist card comes out when he says stupid things (of which there are many; who tells the nation about his daughter's virginity??!). I'm sure she'd do a perfectly good job of leading if people stopped focussing on what she's wearing all the time; they'd never do that to a male leader. She calls an election today and we're more interested in what glasses she's wearing??

<snip>
In regional Australia I see more businesses closing up every time I go.A sign of a great economy.Hmmm.

And I'll bet they are doing the same things they were doing 50 years ago and want to continue doing for another 50 years. Everything changes but some businesses seem to think that they can sit on their bum and wait for government handouts. In the meantime they sit and whinge.

If the motor car was invented now these businesses would be sitting their wondering why horses are going out of fashion, and demanding government help to work out what to do. And I reckon the Liberal party would pay them the money.

As for the farmers, well let's not get started on the biggest welfare recipients and whingers in the country.

Re: Where will you be election day (September 14th)

I'll be back in Oz, so somewhere in NSW working in a polling booth. The 8am-6pm is the easy part - it's the later part that I dread. In one election in a small country town, we had only a couple of tables, so all the sorting had to be done on our hands and knees on the floor. Oh my back at the end!

Ok, one is a liar - the other is a hater of women.

I'm sure both descriptions are incorrect ;)

Each to their own. I don't think many people can be convinced to change their mind when it comes to politics.

Re: Where will you be election day (September 14th)

No, it's a sign of a precarious economy and that's exactly the risk. The opposition is promising major fiscal contraction at a time when the economy is struggling to stand still. You do the maths and if that's difficult simply look at how the UK is going right now.

The UK is printing money at an even greater rate per head of population than the USA.Running a budget at a great deficit.Spending cuts were merely a cutting back-spending is still higher than before the cuts.So the maths certainly dont add up but not the way you think.

The misogynist card was very well played, totally deflected the fact she was defending Slipper and was played all over the world.

Personally I hope they get absolutely flogged and the Wayne Swan loses his seat. I dislike most politicians but I hate Gillard with a passion.

It says something when the mad monk is a better option but I'll take him any day of the week over Gillard.

Bookies are going 1.2 the coalition and they don't often get it wrong.

Flogging :)

Have you ever considered sticking to, or checking, the facts rather than misrepresenting them and/or hiding behind smoke and mirrors? e.g. Abbott NEVER told the nation about his daughters' virginity. That was just another fraudulent Labor construct - why don't you check out youtube for what he really said?! Don't you realise how puerile it sounds to try and excuse Gillard's multitude of failures on the basis that some people (predominantly women I might add) have criticised her dress sense? On the evidence it would be virtually impossible for her to do a "perfectly good job of leading" because she has demonstrated repeatedly that she is irrational, illogical, incompetent and deceitful. In short she is just plain incapable.

My basic observations about policatal support.

Each to their own. I don't think many people can be convinced to change their mind when it comes to politics.
The reality is they are only really campaigning over, at most, 1 in 5 of the voting population.

At rough approximates, for every 10 voters these days, irrespective of a party's 'performance', on average you'll have 1 who'll always vote Greens, 3 who will always vote Labour and 4 who will always vote Liberal/National.

Across those 10 voters, maybe 3 will 'barrack' for 'their' political party like one might for their favorite sports team - 'their' Party can do no wrong and if, goodness gracious, it may look like 'their' party may be up to no good, it's always justified as the 'other' Party is much worse. For those the end always justifies the means.

Re: Where will you be election day (September 14th)

Careful what you pray for. Right now we have the best economy in the developed world while the other mob are basically promising a recession. If the opposition do nationally what they've done in Queensland ...

What an humouros post.Wayne Swan voted the best treasurer in the world by economists that didn't even see the GFC coming. And who think money printing will lead to a recovery even though Japan have been doing that for 23 years and the recovery still hasn't arrived.
We are in good shape because the Chinese have a controlled economy and have decided that building things with steel is a great idea.Pity that their steel industry still cant make a profit and the pollution levels in Beijing are roughly 15 times what most consider safe levels

Indeed - I wasn't even sure it was a serious post, but alas it it......

It's okay Julia is going to slash more handouts in a disgusting attempt to try to find more cash and then perhaps appoint another token figurehead to try to get some more sympathy votes

I wonder what cards she'll pull out in the course of the election....

Because thats what the spin doctors want you to discuss/think. Don't forget her chief spin man is the same muppet that assisted in dissolving the labour party in the UK:idea:

And part of his campaign against Cameron was that he was a misogynist.Deja vu all over again.

Yep everything she does is so well scripted! At our expense of course...

Go Gillard!! Will be watching West Coast Eagles win the flag.

Being less of a basket case than everyone else is NOT the same as being the "best".

Whilst they have some serious policy development work to do (and some positions to dump IMHO - I would trust them 10-fold).

I'm downright scared of the damage the current mob will do.......

Each to their own. I don't think many people can be convinced to change their mind when it comes to politics.

Very true.

But enough do when either:

1/ things are going well and they feel they can afford to vote on 2nd level issues (whatever they happen to be of the individual).

2/ thing aren't going well and they feel they need to vote on 1st order issues.

In regard to TA - there will be a small number of females that buy the anti TA spin.

Just as there are a small number of males that don't like a woman in charge.

But by and large those that vote against TA are those that would vote against the Libs regardless of leader.

And those that vote against JG will do so because they will vote against the ALP regardless.

The only question is precisely how many voters will vote against JG based on the ALPs poor performance..... This is the number that will determine the election result.....everything else is academic.
