Please don't bother to patronise me. Somebody cited Mary Jo Fisher, it really was ridiculous to use her as an example or a comparison to, well, to anything. The woman was a train wreck, and that's a fact, it's not personal abuse.

Read the link in my reply to Moody. You are ignorant of the facts. Not patronising you.You need more education on the care of mental illness.

And perhaps you could read the rest of my response to you.
Thanks for the suggestion btw, I'll certainly treat it with the respect that it deserves.

History usually provides the best judgement.

Probably.

And that still doesn't automatically make them right. If everyone voted for the "Women out of the workplace and back in the home" party, that wouldn't make disenfranchising people based on the gender right.

Well that's probably not going to happen. But they might just vote in Tony who wants to get rid of the carbon tax etc etc

So that will be ok then; " the right thing to do" so to speak

So Rudd thinks he's got a better than average chance of getting knifed in the back again so he's changing the rules.

Can't say I blame him. Once bitten ........

So read the families account-

She is back in full time employment. So not treated too late. She did not have signs of depression when she was first elected.

Nice affectionate blog from her step-daughter. Doesn't really add anything to the information known about MJF's illness, does it?

Doesn't change one little bit my opinion of mary jo Fisher nor all those who have been denigrating her on this forum for her mental illness.Their remarks demean themselves not Mary Jo or her illness.

Sorry a ps.It was her stepson and said a lot more about her than just her illness.

My mistake ...... the article's author talked about their step-mother and I jumped to a criminally presumptive judgement that they were female. Humble apologies.

But that does not explain the rest of your response. I have not denigrated MJF in any way, but you are claiming that others have and have lumped me in with them.

Again - my only comment was that there were many signs of MJF's mental illness before the two shoplifting, one assault and half a hokey-pokey incidents. Her own colleagues and husband were concerned and MJF herself knew there was something wrong, and with the benefit of hindsight it may have been possible for her to have been diagnosed, treated, and possibly still be in the Senate today. That's not how it turned out, but from reading the Australian article it sounds like she is getting on top of her condition and using her experience to help others. Good on her.

But you have turned this topic into a WOFTAM. Can we just move on?

Sorry Moody I wasn't referring to you but others have been denigrating her for her illness and it was to those I was directing my critiscism.
I did not bring up this subject of Mary Jo others did.I have a strong feeling for the proper treatment of those with mental illness hence my responses.I appreciate the feeling in your last post.

Today's Morgan Poll has Labor by a landslide.

2PP: ALP 54.5% (up 3%) cf. L-NP 45.5% (down 3%)

Primary: The ALP primary vote is 41.5% (up 2%), ahead of the L-NP primary vote at 39.5% (down 1%).

So plugging it in to the ABC Election calculator, Antony Green's Election Calculator - Federal Election 2013 (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

We would have 93 seats ALP, 54 LNP, 1 IND, 1 KAP, 1 GRN

Oh dear! I wonder who will be the first to come out with "the only poll that matters is the poll on election day."

After all, a pamphlet and some three word slogans aren't really worth knocking yourself out for.

We need new slogans.

The current ones like........no ticket - no job or last one on - first one off...........aren't cutting it anymore.

Which mental asylum was this poll done at?

Finding No. 5025 - This multi-mode Morgan Poll on Federal voting intention was conducted over the last few days via Face-to-Face, Internet and SMS interviewing, July 5-7, 2013 with an Australia-wide cross-section of 3,521 Australian electors aged 18+, of all electors surveyed 1.0% (down 0.5%) did not name a party.
