The placement of the parties on the ABC's spectrum is ridiculous. I recommend people look at politicalcompass.org's assessment of the 2010 election lineup for something a bit more realistic. It remains basically valid today.

I came where I expected to be as well, and in a similar position to where I do on the political compass.

But that's not where Labor should be, nor the Liberals, nor the Greens, on that spectrum.
 
Wouldn't it be good if we could get the 3 major parties to run the country unhindered for one year each, see how they actually run it and how it impacts on us and then have an election. :idea:

Or, perhaps they could cooperate, especially on the things they actually already agree on which is surprisingly quite a few. Then work out a way to best deal w' the other things left over, that is not quite so much skewed to the self interested. It's a common negotiation tactic. Sadly, our system is adversarial and contrary.

Thoroughly entertaining interview on 7.30 report - Leigh Sales is starting to show some promise after learning the ropes from Chris Uhlmann.

Ruddy didn't look very good, comfortable or happy to be probed......loved it!

BTW Kev looks pretty pale.....I hope the old ticker is ok.

Yes, Chris Uhlmann, LNP apologist. I get why you like him.

I haven't seen the interview but there is no way Rudd could look anywhere near as bad as Abbott did when bailed up by Leigh Sales.

Stupidly decided to power on when I felt a bit of resistance. Sort of like klunk, floor it, slice/there goes the diff. If I didn't know any better, I'd say I sliced off a beauty spot. :oops:
 
It was more of a series of mini speeches with little relevance to the questions rather than an interview.

Leigh Sales was getting increasingly frustrated at KR ignoring her questions and answering his own with much waffling on.

When Leigh didn try to interrupt for the umpteenth time KR started to get a very pursed lips look.

It came out between the "speeches" that Labor had requested KR's presence on 7:30 at late notice.

Should've seen the goose interviewer on channel 9 last night, repeating Abbott lines as a wrap up to an interview. WTF?

He didn't look good! I think Leigh might have hit her straps and ready to give it a fair shake of the sauce bottle.

Why would say that? Everyone knows you can't get a gig at the ABC without having the ALP photo in the wallet.

The guy is pretty good as his job.....end of story.

And by "everyone" I assume you mean the editorial staff of the Australian ?

Howard ensured any "lefty" bias that might have been at the ABC was bonked on the head. Amanda Vanstone on RN's Counterpoint provides all the "balance" conservatives could ever hope for.

The guy is pretty good as his job.....end of story.

Heh. Uhlman's idea of a "probing question" for a Liberal politician is what they had for breakfast.

Leigh Sales is a _vastly_ better interviewer.
