He certainly did undermine Gillard. But I reckon she leaked a few incidences of his tanties too.
And a lot of negative quotes, intended to make it impossible for Rudd to be elected.

I reckon we might see a few of those quotes in the last week of the campaign, as the Libs sink the boot right in.

However, the difference right here, right now is that Gillard is keeping mum for the sake of the party. She'll wait until after the Griffith by-election.

So the ALP is really desperate now with their pathetic negative ads but KRudd says its all policy based.

Really..........

Interesting statistic. Got a cite ?

I find it unusual if half the population lacks a landline connection of some description, I cannot think of a single person I know who doesn't have one, in demographics ranging from people in their mid-20s to late 80s, and from hipster technology wiz to devout luddite.

We don't have a landline. My son doesn't have a landline (Sydney). Our investment apartment doesn't have a landline. That's three out of three for us.

With all these negative labor ads making statements about job losses, overtime, schools etc...

I think the labor party seems to know more about the liberals own (unannounced policies) than the libs themselves.

Maybe it's because past performance is, in this case a good indication of future performance. The Abbott govt may well turn out to be a flailing version of Howard. No infrastructure building, WorkChoices MKII, increased welfare for rich people etc.

Hopefully, without starting any wars that lead to hundreds of thousands of refugees.

Abbot has made no secret that he wants to recreate the Howard years.

Unfortunately (for us) it hasn't quite dawned that Howard's success was largely a result of the times he lived in, not really anything to do with his actions.

There is no mining boom 3.0. There is no massive credit expansion. There is no housing bubble. There aren't many assets left to sell.

Abbot & Hockey's futile attempts to recreate the Howard years will cause the whole country a great deal of harm.

Hopefully, without starting any wars that lead to hundreds of thousands of refugees.
Look, everyone knows that refugees only come to Australia because we're such a soft touch. The idea that they're actually fleeing persecution and in fear of their lives is just some crazy socialist conspiracy.

I think you have put your finger precisely on the spot. This is exactly what Australia is thinking. On those figures, Antony Green tells us that Rudd is in his last three weeks as Prime Minister.

Remember those Grim Reaper ads? They told us that AIDS would mow us all down. Labor has reached for the same tactic. They were desperate enough to reach for Kevin Rudd, they reached for government advertising in an election campaign, they reach for everything they have got. Everything that they think might fool some of the people for three weeks.

We should reach for our skepticism when Rudd runs a negative campaign.

Tony Abbott if he becomes the next Prime Minister, will be the most damaging Prime Minister in living memory.

I can foresee the baby boomers doing it tough for the next decade if he comes in and ruins the economy. I know they will blame Labour but unfortunately it will be up to us still working that will have to fund the largess of the baby boomers and their unrealistically demands.

IMO most people will rely on the recent abject disasters of ALP in Gov to guide them when they walk into the ballot box.

The trouble for the ALP is there are toooooo many poor examples for the people to forget. The last 6 years of federal ALP, corrupt ALP of NSW, years of inept ALP in QLD, massive unemployment in ALP of Tas. Can't recall what happened over in the West but the ALP have been flogged there as well.

Under 3 weeks we will all know. Getting upset about the result is not healthy or productive!

Gotta love bananaby on the box banging on about the poor farmers as if John Howard didn't screw regional areas badly; as if the LNP will do anything about his issues.

Yep, I remember those ads. They warning the country about a very important health issue that threaten Australia and the world. Aids would have mowed us down without awareness of the problem. You only have to look at Africa to see what a lack of aids awareness means. I glad you agree that the ALP is now warning us of an immediate threat to the country.

LOL! Nice save.

I'm really looking forward to reading "Memoirs of the Real Julia".

As opposed to the self-serving rubbish we'll get from Rudd.

Of all the people who are going to do it tough, the baby boomers are last on the list. The whole system has been gamed for their benefit since the day they were born, and that's not going to change any time soon.

Classic scare campaign.

Good for public health - not that healthy for electioneering.

The last week of ads will be entertaining......the nations tv screens will be filled with ALP personalties providing their character assessments of one Kevin Rudd:D:D:D:D:D

Based on all the polls Abbott and Co. will govern the country come September 7th. Glad I put some $ on them at $1.20 early last week, this week the odds are now down to $1.09 .... now I win either way, with $ (or the unlikely event Kevin 13 eventuates). And the $ I deposited into my betting account from my ANZ credit card - in true frequent flyer hoarding points style - earns QF points and surprisingly, the money deposit is not treated as a cash advance either.

I will be away come election day on some island famously known as Ibiza partying to some beats whilst I commiserate the loss of Labor. Yes many think they suck but to me, Abbott sucks just a tad more. Ok, now when I get back from my european getaway it appears the Abbott magic wand will fix all of the 'problems'. First up, my electricity bill will drop around 9% The greenhouse emissions have dropped even though the policy maker does not believe that climate change happens! If my girlfriend gets pregnant during our vacation, I will make the most of the $75K paid maternity, however why do things in halves Mr Abbott? We'd prefer 100% paid maternity, tax our top businesses 1% instead of the 0.5% the Liberal will impose. Anyway that's off point, do we choose the Range Rover Evoque or a BMW 328 Touring? I can't decide between those two! And since that's a hard choice, try pre-booking our main meal on our Thai Airways flights this Thursday which had 62 different meal choices, life is getting a bit harder.

Ok now I am off to find a early voting place so I can cast my vote today. My electorate, imo probably the most progressive in Australia, will romp home with a Labor win. Sadly, not enough to return Kevin 13.

You know what they say, vote early and vote often ;)

I suggest you take a bex and lie down.......then have a read of the AFF posting rules. Geez, you work yourself up into a frenzy!

I can see plenty of examples when reviewing the 2007 campaign......however, given your attitude and insults - I can't be bothered posting them!

WTH......here's one Editorials paint picture in black, white and grey - Federal Election 2007 News

Labor leader Kevin Rudd got the nod from both the conservative Australian and left-leaning The Sydney Morning Herald in editorials today.

It's the first time The Australian has endorsed Labor since Gough Whitlam in 1972.

In only the second time it has supported Labor in its history, the Courier Mail in Brisbane is backing Mr Rudd, a Queenslander.

News Limited's Daily Telegraph, Mr Howard's hometown paper, also backed Mr Rudd, withdrawing its support for the Coalition for the first time since 1998.

2007 is a long time ago. Maybe you've just forgotten or is it just a case of following the Ruddster spiel blindly?

I was there in 2007 which is why both you and I know you are lying. Here is your quote again as you can't seem to remember things you vomit forth even a few hours past :-

IIRC News was just as critical of Howard in the lead up to the 2007 election.

How exactly is the Australian making an election-eve assessment of the two campaigns in 2007 the same as the Telegraph launching their election commentary with "Finally, you now have the chance to ... KICK THIS MOB OUT" or continuing it with mock-ups of Rudd and Albanese in naz_ uniforms???

If this is the most damning evidence of anti-Coalition bias in 2007 then it fails on all counts, as does your credibility as an honest person.

Complain? See above^^^^^

I do like your posts - terrific lite entertainment.

I can see these polls aren't going to do you any good - maybe you should cease reading them;)

I asked you "So what policies in particular of the past 3 years do you believe were a mistake and how will voting for the other mob improve them?"" and you reponded with a pointless poll (aren't they all). That is why I assumed you could think of nothing intelligent to say. How surprising.

And now you have reverted to a condescending attitude as a last line of worthless defense. No match for my contempt for your debating skills, but fill your boots!

Geez, you feeling all right?

I posted proof - not my problem you don't want to admit it.

Moods as I have already posted - in 07 three News Corp top selling Editors and their spreads (OZ, Daily Tele, Courier Mail) backed Rudd into Government - TRUTH.

Unlike your wild accusations that News Corp never ever write anything good about the ALP and back the Libs every time - I backed it up with print/fact. I can understand why you're upset.....never good when facts are presented against totally unsubstantiated claims of bias.

Them the facts! The big difference between 07 and now? 6 years of rotten government. It took Howard 11 years to turn the people off-side including the nations editors. This poor excuse of an ALP team has achieved a hell of a lot more in half the time.

How I feel about things and how I vote have nothing to do with you - Thank you, very much. This is AFF not some trade union forum ;)

I worry about you - getting this worked up 3 weeks out from a LIB/NAT victory doesn't bode well for the future.

now you have reverted to a condescending attitude as a last line of worthless defense. No match for my contempt for your debating skills, but fill your boots!

Go back and read your own post.....very quick to spew out the insults.

I'm very comfortable that I'm not adding any inflaming posts to the ones you contribute. Including this one;)

You need to learn how to play nice.......the Mods must be getting sick & tired of this stuff:!:
