Just got a package from Virgin. Wow only 4 business days after going Gold. Way to go Virgin, I was pretty excited to open it.

Too good to be true ? Yup. Its a replacement Silver card and new program announcement.

about a month as gold and still no package in the mail !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was very impressed by the package to be honest. Couple of people found it hard to open but tried again last night and can't find the problem

Just got home and guess what?? Package in the mail

Trouble is, it's silver. They must have run out of gold paint doing all those freebie status matches :evil:

LOL, got a VA package in the mail today, figured it was my new platinum card after the status match. Nope, only a replacement gold card. Interestingly the card is not embossed (whereas my temp plat card is), wonder if the real plat cards will be embossed?

Oh well, maybe we'll get another one of those nifty boxes and wire rope.

I've got to say though, that box really is schmick, though I would have preferred a noraml printed envelope and embossed cards but each to their own, I've now got another fortnight to wait for gold (insert the crying emoticon)

I assumed everything would have the new branding and the new "Velocity Frequent Flyer" logo.

Yet, strangely, no. Everything still has Velocity Rewards on it. Strange?

Nevertheless, I'll never turn down another card, cool box and bag tags.

OK, I got it sorted.......Liam if you give me your spare gold card, I'll give you my spare wire rope and I can then pass on my spare silver card to jlm and everyone is happy!

Wire rope is easy - go to lounge and ask for a couple of temp luggage tags - the wire rope comes free

Heh. Sounds like a perfect plan.

The builders are installing the new balcony rails today (Urgh. Construction is painful work to organise..) and they are using the same wire right along the balcony. Should have had them made a dozen or so. They are much nicer than the clear plastic!

Received mine today but where's my Gold card, Silver one sent which obviously means these must have done a couple of weeks ago.

VA you need to get the little things right. No point having a big fanfare only to let yourselves down by sending out wrong cards.

it took me almost 4 weeks to receive my card, which was a bit of a bummer because your boarding pass doesn't show what status you are, so its abit hard to get lounge access on etihad without your card as proof. and also if you wanted to take advantage of the extra luggage allowance (i think 12kg or 15kg on etihad extra for gold velocity), you dont have proof to show, so they wont honour it. and you either repack or pay the excess luggage allowance which is $US50 a kg.
