Damnit I really wanna try these pancakes out.

I can honestly say that they taste like normal pancakes. They aren't that great.

OK they might be a little sweeter because they are in the lounge but that's about it.... however, I don't want to rain on your parade so go for it!

You know, it's funny, because I know that I can make pancakes at home a thousand times more delicious. But I still get a little rush of excitement when I see the pancake machine sitting there in the lounge in the morning. I can't explain it! :D

Don't worry, I totally understand where you are coming from!

Enjoyed pancakes in the MEL (Dom) J lounge this morning - but have just witnessed the machine wheeled out the back - future destination unknown!

well I can say that the machine has been in the J lounge for the last 2 visits I've had there..

Great to see this very valuable thread revived.

It created much comment and very worthy topic amongst us all...

I almost missed this in the CBR J lounge this morning:

They were actually pretty good. I put some maple syrup on top, and some fresh fruit as well.

Beaten to the punch; but I was pleased to finally get to try the famous pancakes in the CBR J lounge on Sunday morning.
A very impressive lounge too, and a breakfast comparable to many hotel lounges I might add. :)

Gee that looks ok OBB.

Back on topic, my sister commented the other day when trying the pancakes that she would have loved brown sugar with the lemon, instead of white. My family has always eaten them this way, so thinking of sending in feedback/a suggestion for brown sugar to be available too, thoughts?

Are there any brown sugar in the sticks at the coffee machines?

Cheers

Steve

Agreed.

In the absence of brown sugar and lemon, I put a little bit of syrup on and then put fruit on top of it from the breakfast bar, ie:

Well the fruit looks nice but try this. Onto an empty plate two spoons of syrup, then place Pancake 1, another two spoons of syrup, place pancake 2 (repeat as often as needed, for those going a 3 or 4 stack) top off with another two spoons of syrup and you're sugar loaded for the day!!! :D

I know the Holiday Inn Express in Vegas has a pancake maker in the foyer where the complimentary breakfast. Can't speak for other HIX's as we either slept in or had too early a start for breakfast. Can anyone else comment on pancake machines at other HIX hotels?

If you want a no fuss DIY kind of pancake breakfast you can grab a packet of golden pancakes from the bakery section of the supermarket then nuke them for about 20 seconds then add maple syrup to that! Not too bad I have to say.

The Staybridge Suites in Irving TX feature a waffle maker amongst other things for their complimentary breakfast buffet so others may be able to comment if this is standard issue for those properties.

Looks like I just earned the evil person award. Just went to the pancake machine, there was one in the process, push the ok button 3 times then went and grabbed a seat. When I got back to the machine the same guy is still there (bit strange), the counter says 2 of 4, there is one pancake on a plate at the end of the machine. So anyway, I grabbed number 2 and the guy says "excuse me they come out in pairs". matter of factly I explained the counter, I asked for 3 so 2, 3 and 4 must be mine and proceeded to take them.

Rather graceless on my part, but it's early and I think I was shocked about this whole "they come out in pairs" thing. Do they, have they ever come out in pairs?

(btw waiting for the cane from those who now consider me more evil than ever)
