Tried that light fluffy pancake with syrup, in BNE QP. Wonder if that was genuine maple syrup or flavored variety. Forgot about the butter bit. I asked for cream and they didn't have any.

I also popped into the new Virgin lounge. Very Impressive.

Forgot to update this thread - pancake machine was sighted (and tested :)) in the SYD T2 QP on Thursday. Very tasty :D

My next serve is Sun 21 Aug in the Adl QP. :) Yummy start to a 10 day OS trip. Just wish the weak coffee didn't taste like recycled dish water with a bit of suds for froth. :(

With quite a few 'serious' threads going on at the moment, I loved reading an entire thread that is just about pancakes. :)
So for all you pancake lovers you can find them in the following locations:

Qantas Clubs in:
Sydney T3 and T2
Melbourne
Adelaide
Perth
Canberra
Brisbane

Sydney and Melbourne International Business
Comings soon to Brisbane International Business

If I hear of any other pancake related info (new sauces, syrups or locations), I'll be sure to share the good news.

Cheers,
Red Roo

Any word if they will be in the J lounges as well Red Roo?

I was on the phone to the Customer Experience/Pancakes team when I saw the reply to my post.
We did not have plans to put pancake machines in the Business Lounges but since the response has been so positive, we are going to look into putting them there too.

I will let you all know when I have an update on this.

Cheers,
Red Roo

I do love pancakes. Currently I head into the BNE QP, grab a stack of pancakes and then head over the the J Lounge.

I have in recent times gotten some strange looks....

I imagine a team of people whose main tasks involve working out pancake strategies for the QF network.

I can just imagine they have their own extension, and answer the phone "Hello, Qantas Pancake Department."

Should we start a thread called TPAS - The pancake Appreciation Society?!?!?

Somebody just said to me on twitter. This whole war between the two big airlines has come down to one thing.

Pancakes, or Toasted Sandwiches. :D

True, although the pancakes have been in place at OOL for at least two years as part of the JQ offering (and at the odd Rydges/HI breakfast buffet), so its no surprise they are migrating up, whereas the toasties were an AFF original!

Not to be ungrateful towards pancakes, but sheesh, I could think of maybe a million things that might be more important to fix at QF than the availability/non-availability of pancake machines!

(For the pedants, probably not acually a million but a hell of a lot).

What about F lounges as well.

Eggs Benedict with a side of smoked salmon and a glass or two of Tattinger champs will trump Pancakes, with a glass of what masquerade as coffee, anytime.

You do get interesting looks as you walk back into the J Lounge with the pancakes and then later watch others in the J lounge walk to the self serve J food counter looking for the pancakes.

A cynical person could say that the pancake machines are yet another enhancement that doesn't benefit WPs. ;)

Might have to visit the 'other side' so to speak and see what all the fuss is about.
