Paris Suites!

Back when we booked this trip I had a cunning plan to blow all my Hyatt points on the last two nights in Paris, this and securing CX F award flights out of CDG was the only reason Paris made it on the list.

With 60,761 points that needed using I booked two nights at the Park Hyatt Paris - Vendôme. That took care of 60,000 points, and I was more than happy to let the balance just fade away with the expiry period.

The trip has completely changed, and now we are staying 5 nights the PH isn't looking that attractive. I've now booked a replacement hotel, cancelled the Hyatt booking with the points already crediting back into my account. Forced to do something to keep the points alive we might have to wander over to the PH bar to down a drink or two.... decision, decisions.

Thanks to some great advice provided in the destination thread we've booked the following restaurants..

Arpège
Alléno Paris
Ellswroth
Septime...waitlisted for this one

We've left plenty of time to accomodate some "off the cuff" finds - these ones make the best memories.

We've also settled on a hotel. Rosewood - Hôtel de Crillon

Today we are having lunch at a French restaurant in Perth.....it saves having to fly to France....

Welcome @cove don’t normally see you around these parts. Enjoy lunch!

To borrow one of your lines ... we do these things because we can;)

We do the alterative and go Restaurant Thierry, France Soir in Melbourne or Chez Pierre in Perth because we can. Next month is USA for us.

Hôtel de Crillon provide a range of special offers - we've gone with the Suite Retreat.

Suite Retreat
• Full American breakfast for two
• 85 Euros F&B or Spa voucher - not applicable to retail product
• Guaranteed upgrade
• Early check-in confirmed at time of booking
• Complimentary round trip transfers with VIP meet and greet service at the airport upon arrival
• 2 Complimentary coughtails at the Bar Les Ambassadeur

The guaranteed upgrade came though with the booking confirmation. The details on the return transfers are thorough, even if the pricing is completely OTT.

- Mercedes S Class Maybach (3 passengers & 2 suitcases): The cost for this service is 365€ each way, including a meet & greet service only for the arrival.
- Range Rover Autobiography (3 passengers & 5 suitcases): The cost for this service is 365€ each way, including a meet & greet service only for the arrival.
- Mercedes V Class (up to 7 passengers & suitcases): The cost for this service is 315€ each way, including a meet & greet service only for the arrival.

I went with the Range Rover....

Going to Paris/Crillon with only 2 suitcases is so LCC!!. Sacrilege!!.
Much respect that you chose the 5 suitcase option!!:)

The additional luggage space will probably come in handy for the departing transfer ;)

Can't wait for the wine list in these restaurants. I hope it's :) and not

+1

Pretty confident the wine lists will be completely OTT ... lucky it's only 5 nights!

Love the Sydney first class lounge. There in less than 2 weeks. What champagne did they have on offer
