When buying W/R/E fares on CX AA is even better. Crediting K/M/L/V fares to CX is also better than the 50% earn with QF.
Indeed. And if buying B/Y/W/R/E, you earn status miles at 1.5 times rate, the same as for business and first class, making it just as easy to earn elite status flying on the right economy fare as it is with first class fares.

Heaven forbid, if QF starts charging for row 4 on domestic, that's when it will loose me as a customer as well.

Sadly I have to agree. Bulkheads and exit rows should be a free benefit of status.

This sign disturbed me earlier today in SYD domestic

The Gold belongs below the Platinum. Not same line next to Platinum.

That is a worry JohnK. WP = SG with a quick Brasso rub? Or have the QF sign-writing work experience students got amongst it yet again?

As I posted earlier in the thread, I think JohnK is thinking about things too much

"I think you will find that the signs were printed before Gold's were offered priority boarding and not reprinted for this change, as I noticed at SYD the other week that "& Gold" is just a sticker when the sun flickered on the sign. makes sense not to reprint hundreds of expensive signs. Myth busted."

I guess we should be grateful they didn't stick the Gold sticker over the top of the Platinum ;)

Not sure. I know it has been explained but still doesn't look and feel right to me.

Note the Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire symbols at the bottom.

It's the only logical place to fit it on the sign without getting all new ones.

Who cares where they palced the word "Gold"

Exactly. I think a few people need to get over the fact that priority boarding is a OW benefit for Sapphire and Qantas has made the decision to allow SG to use this benefit.

Can I suggest that the chances of a P1 or a CL being in Y on a Long haul is next to zero, you can't realistically get that status from Y , so it is really a devaluation of WP benefits

I've hit >3000SC riding J* .... symptom of living at a non QF port. If P1 existed - I would have pulled a few more flights out of thin air and hit the target.

So our comparison on earning on QF OW partners.Mrsdrron as QF WP first.myself as AA plat second.

This is a bit like comparing apples vs oranges. You've chosen airlines who are all part of the transatlantic mini-alliance within oneworld and as such all of them earn at least 1 mile per flown mile at AA. If you compared other airlines, eg. CX particularly in Y, it'd be a different story.
