Passing of a good relationship

Sadly I have to agree. Bulkheads and exit rows should be a free benefit of status.

This sign disturbed me earlier today in SYD domestic

The Gold belongs below the Platinum. Not same line next to Platinum.

And Double Platinum belongs above P1 and Diamond Double Platinum above that and Double Triple Platinum One above that. It's like governments printing more money as the currency devalues. Who cares what the jolly sign says, it's what the product delivers that matters. I am glad to see that Long Red Line is above Short Red Line status though and Arrow is rightly below Gold.

This is a bit like comparing apples vs oranges. You've chosen airlines who are all part of the transatlantic mini-alliance within oneworld and as such all of them earn at least 1 mile per flown mile at AA. If you compared other airlines, eg. CX particularly in Y, it'd be a different story.

Sorry but on the upcoming CX flights I will get a status bonus, mrsdrron wont.Certainly if discount Y on CX better giving to QF but if fare buckets B,H then 100% on AA,50% on QF.

Oh for goodness sake, get over it! next thing you'll want the Platinum to be bold and italic.

Sooner or later you'll retire, have LTG and change your tune.

So our comparison on earning on QF OW partners.Mrsdrron as QF WP first.myself as AA plat second.
How much do you earn on AA for QF E class airfares? I can also give you some more classes from UL, CX, RJ that don't earn on AA.

Hopefully Qantas doesn't go down that path with its own airfares but it is inevitable.

And no I am not defending QF but horses for courses.

Well the new world begins, CX ADL - HKG-EWR, Good morning Mr Raleyoz, welcome to Cathay, you have been comp upgraded, aahhh the world is good again, next stop hello New Wing Lounge , :-)

That's a really good way to start relationship with CX!

Nice! You might want to try the new Pier First class lounge, it opened yesterday.

Oh yes you can! Even from 90% domestic Y travel ;)
After reading your OP I think QF actually did you a favour here raleyoz. Forget about seat selection for a moment, by your own admission you agreed to pay almost $800 or 35% more to fly QF instead of CX ADL-JFK. Now my question is why??? If you would pay extra to avoid inferior airlines like VA,DL,UA etc. I would understand but CX are as good if not better then QF in almost every aspect. Finally you made the right decision.

You seemed to have forgotten that 'time' also has a value.

CX (or SQ etc ...) adds another layer of time: transit and longer flight time.

Heading to EUR is a different animal. There, your observations are spot on.

Agree with the general sentiment that it is sad and disappointing to see WP benefits continuously being enhanced.

(On a sacrilegious note) I'd happily trade F lounge access for the exit / bulkhead seat privileges if that were to be a choice as I know where I'd be sitting / sleeping for 12-15 hrs vs a 2-hr meal (with or without bubbles).

And you seemed to have forgotten the FFs motto: "why fly direct when you can connect..." :D
Seriously now, the OP is departing ADL which is not QF territory anymore and said in their words CX has more convenient service to JFK.
just to dig a little deeper i found CX had a much better suited service from ADL to JFK for 2.2K return, but no i went ahead and booked QF for $2985,*

Actually to JFK it is almost the same travel time from ADL

I would agree with this point
