There is nothing wrong with a "stripped" fare....one that is genuinely discounted for those of us that just require a seat on a flight. But this is not how it always works. You could still end up paying more for your "seat" than the person next to you who bought the works...it all depends on when you bought the ticket.
And it's usually the pre-cursour to some pretty interesting fare creep, where sooner rather than later the "stripped" fare becomes a similar price to what an all-inclusive one was...

Well they've taken the survey down so maybe they got the message. And how did AusBT get to call their article an exclusive when it was a survey that went to hundreds if not thousands of people

In my experience component pricing makes airfares more expensive than full service airlines.

Has anyone tried to add seat, food/beverage, 20kg luggage, 20kg golf clubs to a standard Air Asia/Tiger/Scoot no frills airfare? Ends up being more expensive and is still without lounge access.

If Qantas were to introduce a basic fare it will be the full price it is today and bundles added from there.

The other negative is many businesses will buy the cheap fare and not bother bundling in the extras that the business traveller would like, further eroding the business traveller's experience.

This is my experience booking a VA codeshare on NZ .... Corporate TA website just books cheapest without ability to add extras.

Flew them once.
