PED's on/off during various flight stages - Why?

As I wrote, this does not happen during take off.

Fair enough, thanks for the correction. I haven't flown this aircraft myself, just relying on two friends who have. They told me their QF iPad's 3G was active the whole time - either showing a connection when on the ground or looking for one (mostly unsuccessfully) during flight. Of course, they probably (hopefully) weren't playing with it during takeoff. It would be interesting to know how the QStreaming system can remotely disable the 3G radio for that period - or why they'd want to have it back on during the flight, given the chances of someone absconding with the device before landing are relatively low.
