PER-SIN to return from June.

Jetstar Marketing dept listen up!

By all means 3K or JQ adding a A330 or 787 with "business class" would be an improvement over the current situation, that is, noting the A320s are economy only. perhaps MEL-SIN-PER-SIN-MEL with two planes so daily on both?

And consider that premium economy SCs would limit the desirability of the JQ/3K versus Scoot.

Will we see opening specials on this route?

If HK is $600 on sale, Singapore should technically be cheaper

Pricing better be good, Scoot's Biz seats would be tempting if it was cheaper than Qantas' 738 economy product

Whilst it may not be ideal it looks like a start and if enough patronage then surely the next option would be to upsize to an A330. I hope that if this does happen that Perth Members and the flying public in General ensure the flight is full at all times thus prove QF wrong and hopefully open their eyes to other incorrect decision's of late.

Lets hope that now that QF are profitable, reportedly, it could see the 787 orders formalised and perhaps enable non stop Perth - London Flights :)

I just hope their ex-codeshare partners on PER-SIN return as well? ie. BA, AY, 9W

Although the aircraft choice (738) and timing is not great, the proposed service would be far better than what we have now (which is squat).

As there is a lot of low cost competition on this route, I hope QF do not set it up to fail with uncompetitive pricing.

While that may theoretically be possible, PER-DXB would be (unfortunately) a great deal more in line with reality.

Add JL and UL to the code share possibilities.

Reading the announcement on airlineroute.net, I welcome the thought, but also note that the re-instatement is PROPOSED. I would be somewhat happier if the route was ANNOUNCED. But I have a pedantic streak at times.

It is "proposed" as it remains subject to regulatory approval. The regulatory bodies dont like you to "announce"

Whilst highly unlikely to be refused, a look at the mess Air Asia X made of the KUL-MEL flights and lack of approval suggests it is always better to let the regulator approve before you announce.

Much like the extended season of SYD-YVR flights were "subject to regulatory approval" at the time of announcement.

Where did the SIN slot come from - or did QF have an un-used allocation?

I understand the difference in proposed and announced. I still prefer the guaranteed existence as opposed to "desire".

As far as I know SIN is not slot restricted.
Airline Policy

CAAS oversees slot allocation at Changi Airport and exercises supervisory oversight over the Slot Coordinator at Changi Airport. With effect 1 April 2010, CAAS has appointed the Changi Airport Group as the Slot Coordinator.

Which at this stage would have meant no announcement however.

Interesting id have thought for large chunks of the day demand would be greater than available slots at SIN.

Things may not be so good after all. Please tell me this is not happening....

2nd Update at 0530GMT 11FEB15

QANTAS during mid-day Wednesday local time (11FEB15) has removed proposed schedule for Perth – Singapore service, which would see the oneWorld member operating Boeing 737-800 aircraft on daily basis, from 13JUN15. QF last operated this route in July 2014 with A330-200/-300 aircraft.
The information for this proposed service resumption was based on scheduling filing in the OAG as of the week of 08FEB15, as well as GDS’ FLIFO. QF has removed this flight from the GDS, despite reservation was not available. In the original report, Airline Route stated that additional changes remain possible.

Just because it has disappeared from the GDS doesn't mean it's all over, they won't have put it there unless they had some planning going on. It's a wait and see game now.

It's a start.

738 is better than nothing, I wonder if they would consider running an A330 on the weekend.

I have been to Singapore in January for the past 5 years and I had considered going again this year but flying either Jetstar or another airline to get Frequent Flyer points just didn't appeal.
Perhaps if loads increase they can look to upgrade services.

May be there are going to publish today the route with a A380, due to everyone in Perth is interested in going somewhere with QF

I agree. The "TFC SUBJ GOVT APPROVAL" in the original filing suggests that there may be more to this than an temporary or accidental filing based on the retired QF71/2 service; surely an employee at Mascot isn't playing Airport Mania with GDS submissions.

It would be great to be able to have some OW connections with JL/AY from Perth again.
