I would say that with the current QF SIN sale down at AUD599 rtn from the east coast, there will be more cutting of QF services to SIN before we get any QFi services back.

oh is that what it means ?

To be an optimist:

It's still only been 3 weeks since the initial report of the GDS filing and QF have never been known to file phantom routes before.

My source (who will remain nameless) said the GDS filing was an error, in that it was only supposed to go on the test platform not the live one. QF are looking at it with a B738 and will more than likely happen, when, who knows.

Given there are now two Jetstar exPER flights around 0800, you would think QF should be able to support a 738 on PER-SIN.

Red Roo - PLEASE - please make sure they don't run the QF flights within an hour of any of the Jetstar flights.

Failing all of the above - how about a J* A330?

Edit: I'd like an QF A330 but will settle for a J* 788.

Happy wandering

Received an email today about specials ex-SIN. Not that special at all.

But I see your point. If sales are due to low loads that cant be good thing.

Noted this in a CAPA article published two days ago:

Now it appears Qantas is preparing to return international services to Perth with a flight to Singapore – a daily 737-800 compared to its previous double daily A330 services. This may placate some voices but Qantas will need to demonstrate its intentions are genuine and not token.

(The full article is here: Qantas seeks political support for international growth: ‘We operate below our full potential’ | CAPA - Centre for Aviation )

Surely if Qantas were to recommence PER-SIN services with the two daily JQ services already in place, it would make sense to maximise the difference between the two products.
Difficult to see how they can do this with a 737-800. The business seats are "barely business" and not really attractive for a 6 hour flight.
Also the forward galley is small, preventing the installation of an espresso machine and otherwise restricting the range of food and beverages they can offer.
Further back, the 3-3 layout in economy would be annoying on a 6 hour flight because some people will fall asleep, making it difficult for others to get up and go to the toilet.
At least with a 2-4-2 layout no-one is ever more than one seat from an aisle.
I avoid 737s on flights between Perth and the east coast, whether I am flying with QF or VA.
They certainly don't appeal for the longer flight to Singapore.
Of course ANY QFi flights out of PER would be better than none, but I wouldn't want to see them restore the service on terms which doom it to failure.

Ever seen the Y cabin in a 777, 787, A380 or 747? :) They're all 3 next to the windows.
I do agree that a 738 is quite small but I fear QFi have no other planes.
