Sunscreen is a must for Macchu Pichu
Agree with this. Also for Lake Titicaca ... take a broad-brim hat, caps don't cut it.

Bought little sunscreen yesterday that comes on a carabiner so we can have it attached to the outside of one of our backpacks. Bought bladders for our backpacks. Now for a packable broad brimmed hat. I just need my recovery from my double arthroplasties to continue to progress. Inca Trail here we come!
We bought them last year for our trip to Iceland and Greenland but less space and weight this year means it's easier to hire them, and sleeping bags, in Cuzco than taking our own.Great stuff!
You might want to get some hiking sticks* .... we saw heaps of people using them as they were ending their trail.

Most people who use hiking sticks, aka trekking poles, have no idea how to use them or what they are for. The people in the photo, for instance. The poles just end us as extra weight that don't do anything. If you are trekking through snow and ice, perhaps. Otherwise, better not to bother. Or at least look up how to use them, IMHO.
I like them particularly for coming down hills, especially if the ground has loose stones. Level ground and most gentle uphill I telescope them back in and stick them in my backpack.
