Has anytime access back fired on anyone recently ?

What do you mean??
There has been no anytime access since 2011.

I rarely get my card checked if thats what you mean.

Theyre checking and scanning card at mel and syd for me on my last 2 visits

I've found SYD very inconsistent in the last few visits. I'd guess 50% I get asked to hand over the card to be scanned and the other is a simple flash and through.

Depends on staffing and if anyone is taking up their time I think

Yep that's what I mean

I've noticed more active card checking in SYD recently. 2 interesting experiences for myself as I'm sending a few flights to AA. First one with printed BP showing AA number. Card scanned at the J lounge with resulting look of confusion. Had to show the BP, mentioned I was sending the flight to AA - all good.

Using arrival access this week having checked in from the sms with QF number in the booking and changed to AA number later. J lounge scanned the card resulting in a confused look. Started to pull out the phone to show the e-BP. But they said it was fine.

I saw someone trying to flash his gold card at the ADL qantas club last week travelling with a guest to get entry. Card was taken and scanned. Then asked if they were travelling with Qantas. Reply "No on a virgin flight" in a tone as if that was perfectly fine. Tell ya story walking pal!
The attitude and tone was unbelievable, gold never had any time access.

I've never had a request to scan my card at domestic BNE, SYD or MEL J lounges but almost every single time at CBR.

On one occasion they even had me (and others) wait a minute or so each while they printed paper BPs? Didn't appear to be any problem with the at-gate card scanners so I'm not sure what the point was...

Noticed the same as medhead
SYD scanning on last few visits.
I only use the lounge before and after eligible flights so can't comment on marki's experience.

I can comment on Melbourne lounge the most and have no issues. I am not wanting to write too much as there are other eyes watching this thread.

You might be surprised in Melbourne now...

I fly late JQ flights often from SYD and use J lounge for dinner and have had to show BP a few times now, as they have scanned to find no QF bookings

In fairness both BNE and MEL J lounges are behind desks that screen entry. No real need to scan cards at those locations, as it should've already happened.
