Well, a short précis of events:

Natasha Belling was the MC, resplendent in a red dress and lipstick.



She introduced Alan Joyce who recounted QF's humble beginning 91 years ago in Longreach and advised that there will be 3,000 P1 members out of 8.1M QFF's.



He introduced John Travolta and we found put that he just got his 11th flight certification.



Some of us then shamelessly pushed forward to get a photo with JT. I don't have it to post.

Finally, some of us went to get a photo of the QF "Hostesses through the ages".

My wife and I had a great time...

It was nice to meet Lindsay Wilson and Mal. Also, briefly Trippin and Storeyteller.

I look forward to seeing the AFF group shot with Alan Joyce on here soon.

My wife and I had a nice private chat with Alan (as things were winding down) about his union dramas. He seemed genuinely dissapointed that he was left with no choice but let down QF customers. He apologized for my own personal inconvenience on 31/10 (which was minor - had to rebook with SQ instead & actually saved money) and said that he is relieved that the airline can now meet it's customer's expectations. I don't doubt it

Aside from the union political issues (and irrespective of which side of the fence you sit with respect to the lockout) he came across as a charming and warm gentleman - I wouldn't have thought that before meeting him.

I will post some pictures in due course - my wife was sad that she didn't get a photo with Travolta, but she had a good chat with Gary from Masterchef, a photo with the BondiVet and from some guy from Packed to them Rafters (I obviously don't watch enough television).

Good to meet you and your wife last night. The shot I have of Aff members with Alan is very blury. The person who took the photo was shaking it around it seems. There might be a better shot from another camera available.

I had a great night. Alan came across as warm and caring. Must hide the stress real well. And a big wave to the Qantas staffers who I know are watching this thread. Good to meet you and learn bits and pieces about what happens in the background.

My lips are sealed about certain topics....
