Yes, i was going to suggest an online order...

From the contributions here you can see there are ample examples of companies that do have limits but are happy to alert their genuine customers for their benefit that you don't need to be a A..hole of a company about it...

Where is Red Roo of do they only show up when they have some promoting of QF to do???

Hi, my 2 young kids are also facing the prospect of their QFF points expiring soon. They have no plans (nor money) to travel any time soon (both still in school) - so am I right in understanding that I can save their points by having them transfer everything to my account? I'm sorry if this was already spelt out somewhere, but I couldn't find anything explicit to this effect. Thanks.

Yes, transfer them to your account. If they don't have 5000 points for the minimum transfer, transfer some of your across first. All transfers are immediate. And if your like me, you won't transfer them back. While I'm paying for the points, they work their way back to me.

Yes that's correct provided you have had activity in your account in the last 18 months as points transferred into an account does not count as an activity that prevents points from expiring.

There is a minimum of 5,000 points required for a transfer so if the kids have less than than in each of their accounts just transfer 5K from your account to child 1, then the full amount from child 1 to child 2 then the full amount from child 2 bak to your account. Have there been sufficient activity in your spouse's account to avoid points expiry?

You can do up to 4 points transfers per year up to 100K each time.

It may be worth signing up for a free Award Wallet account as that will send you out reminders for upcoming points expiry dates for numerous airline and hotel frequent traveller programs. It's also handy to advise you of airlines schedule changes too.

Thank you all for your really quick and informative suggestions. My kids have about 30,000 points each from a previous Europe holiday we did. My account, and my wife's are very active - credit cards, Woolworths card, hotel memberships are all linked to our Qantas memberships. I'll just tell my kids to give them all to me - after all it's Christmas!! Thanks again.

Exactly when do you mean by 'soon'?

There are several strategies for keeping your points account active including the Qantas toolbar and Woolworths QFF points (they are still available until the end of the year). You can also redeem a reward (not using all of the points) to keep your account active.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when that conversation happens :) . You might get the points from account 1, but if I was child #2 I'd be into my account in a flash and change the pin

Understand the child's sentiment but the points would still expire unless they are transferred to an active account (the transfer in not counting as activity)

Children are so advanced these days, my one year old grandchild earns 150 points a month using the QF toolbar. She even knows enough to use a browser on my computer that is not used for anything-else.

OK, change the pin, go to Google, Google "prevent Qantas points from expiring", find AFF, download QF toolbar; then using the toolbar, Google "value of Qantas FF points" then set price for parents. All this could be achieved by the child in about a minute, using only one hand on their phone all while appearing to be listening to what the oldies were saying. :)

About 30,000 points by the time they are 18.

Is the toolbar still the quickest and easiest method to generate activity? When do the points post to your FF account?

I have a friend whose points expire in a month. I'm open to other suggestions as I'd like to get it rapped up as soon as possible.

The toolbar is no longer available for a few years

The toolbar will not earn points even if you can install it.

EpiQure seems to be about the most immediate way to have "points activity".

Bankwest Qantas saving account works like magic. As long as you got money in the account then you get credited with Qantas points each month. Just make sure you move $2k in and out each month to avoid the monthly fee of $5.

They could always buy something for $1.00 on ebay and earn via the Qantas online mall.
