They could always buy something for $1.00 on ebay and earn via the Qantas online mall.
I'd caution against this. In my experience it often fails to track and it may take a long time for you to eventually chase it up.

In my experience with Qantas Mall, a month is nowhere near enough time for Qantas to actually credit the points for anything you buy. They will take the first two weeks just to reply to your claim, then the next month will be constantly telling you your claim is "invalid" because the receipt/proof of purchase you sent them isn't in the exact tax invoice format they expect. The next month will be a constant back and forth of them calling your claim invalid in a blatant attempt to wear you down until you give up. Then eventually by month 3, a manager will step in and make a miraculous manual 'points adjustment' to your account without telling you.

That's how it typically goes with Qantas Mall claims.

It is funny as I have never had issue with points posting from the QF Points mall.

Wish I could say the same for the Flybuys targeted offers currently...

In terms of a prompt hit of QFF points, I'd suggest Epiqure.

Tell your friend to just to the Epiqure thing as they want something to credit asap.

You don't need the grief involved with following up lost points that have been wiped because the purchase made before 31 Dec hadn't credited in time.

I've have similar positive experiences with the online mall but well noted that others have not.

And if they don't want the free wine that comes with the points then let me know and I can provide my shipping address.
