I'm likely to do a One World Tier point run later in the year. AY to Europe via BKK seems the way to go in biz (not lite) for around 3500 dollars return which is excellent. Issue is getting to BKK.it still amazes me that biz fares ex PER to BKK are nearly the same as the flights to Europe!! So it's likely to be down the back unless I use BA AVIOS if available on MH metal. Using MH would likely get me some more points (careful about the fare category) however I did think about maybe SQ via SIN to get some more VA points. Using QF also option to SIN then onwards it appears using Thai metal...but they are star alliance. Would I still get one world points? I hate how QF say they are one world but confuse me greatly (yes I know they are not the only ones but they have more other alliances shares than most)..away from one world. Using Thai direct from PER is probably the cheapest and easiest way but seems pointless as I am not part of
star alliance nor will I be I suspect. Hard enough from PER maintaining One World status ...at a reasonable cost and also carrying on with VA Platinum.

Just to make sure I’ve read it correctly, are you after QF Status credits or BA tier points?
It's going to be a BA tier points run.

So Jetstar will earn you nothing.
Malaysian will earn ok on BA, it’s Qantas who stiff you on MH flights
Yeah .it's the 02.25am am departure on the MH metal that pulls on my heartstrings negatively ...but means no overnighter at KUL. Done it before ...but ....🫣

Which makes it a lot harder than QF (or with JQ bundles)
Can you meet the required 2/4 BA_IB flights for BA status?
Yeah always manage that ok....usually flying AY into say Budapest , or Brussels, via HEL then onward to London with BA then up and down the road to Scotland (that's the 4 flights with BA) or route with AY to MAD then get IB metal to UK.

Not sure on price but CX to HKG thrn BKK?

Thanks for that. Sometimes I do actually use CX as an add on..usually on the return flight..BUD-HEL-HKG-SIN as an example. However right now using CX is quite expensive even for using BKK-HKG although that might change.

I did not know about this....I'll have a check to see. Thanks for the info.
As update...still nearly 5,000AUD for that route....much more expensive than even BKK-BRU-BKK with AY! Asia prices are really high never mind Australian prices! 🫣

Join SQ KF, and use SQ, enter KF # into booking.
Transfer KF miles to VFF, at 65% gain out of the 100 in KF miles.
TG is in *A, so, you can earn that way.
Or TG all the way, PER onwards, with KF # in the booking.
SQ via SIN is ok, Changi is a good airport to tranfer/transit.
Putting max miles into KF, also averts VFF knowing the points were earnt with TG, not that they would care, but still, less they know...
SQ Y is good.
---
SQ, PER - SIN - BKK, putting in your KF #, and return will earn quite a sum of VFF points.
TG , PER - BKK direct and return, saves transit time in SIN, can put in your SQ KF # too.
QF, if you must, PER - SYD, in Y, and premY SYD - BKK with AY, earning QFF miles and SC. AY plane, but earns QFF points still, BKK onwards can be HEL.

Thanks.. 🤭..I guess being in SQ Y class with KF flyer means no lounge access despite holding a VA platinum card...?.. quite tempted with the SQ flights to BKK via SIN although had thought entering VA card number.
