Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Do as I do.Every time I see a poll in any media about opening the borders I vote I want them open now.Usually they say if vaccinated.
I am noticing as time more are joining me.In a recent news.com.au poll the open borders was up to 49%.With a little help we will get it over 50%.
I've been observing more push back at the close Australia bubble too. Or maybe the silent majority have had enough and stating it.

It is clear that the PM's team are poorly advised and not doing Operational research for optimal outcomes, including the re-election one Replace short treasury busting lockdowns with sustained ultra costly lockdowns, including the Christmas/New Year shopping/festivities. That outcome is almost certain now. Delta is a gamechanger, NSW lost. If not infection escapes will keep the iron hot. '

Despite adequate vaccines by Nov/December, a cohort of covidiots will not get vaccinated, and those that do get it, need another 4 weeks for the vaccinations to come up to full bottle, because breakthrough infections in the vaccinated will poison that well. I have never seen orderly xmas shopping and not seeing the grandchildren.

Poor Dr's. There will be no hospitals on bypass this silly season. Poor QF, assets and staff idled.
Overseas flights are trashed now, because it will take 6 months to transition to an orderly managed deaths scenario, get all kids 12 vaccinated, and boosters to the 2 shotters.

I could rant on, but now is the time to run scary commercials , get a vaccine green cards up and running, and use the phone tracking to nab the spreaders, and set up pre-xmas confinement rules for the un-vaccinated so they are aware of the consequences.

and imagine how the we'll all feel with the inevitable NSW and VIC Lockdowns over Christmas.

People won’t be complying by then. Guaranteed. So they simply won’t be effective.
Imagine a smartphone filmed arrest of a grandmother in handcuffs hosting her son and 4 year old grandkids on Christmas morning by 4 big burly Victorian Police - ala the pregnant mum last year arrested for incitement prior to her ultrasound appointment.

Imagine that circulating around the globe on social media.

Remember when we thought that would never happen here.

And look how quickly we just accepted it. God help anyone who wants to exercise their democratic right to protest.

I guess the argument could be made that you protest in between the lockdowns, when you're allowed to be out and about, in large groups, and without a mask. The lockdown isn't going to be lifted because a 100 people protest. But if enough people protest between lockdowns the government might take that into account.

Not really much of a protest then… people have the right to stand up against the government, especially now when the ongoing lockdowns are largely as a result of government incompetence.

If you have access to The Australian, there is an article on Page 5, top article where SA former Treasurer has said exactly this. I'll be protesting along with him come 80% vaccination.

Assuming full access by then, no one who has been vaccinated will accept a lockdown approach to protect the unvaccinated. I won’t.
We have full access to AZ now. Once I’m fully vaccinated late next month anyone desperate to be vaccinated that is over 18 with very rare exceptions will have had plenty of time to be vaccinated.

However the government has made it clear that having had plenty of time to get vaccinated is not their condition for opening up.

Unfortunately even if we get to 80% the rest of us can be held to ransom with cancelled elective surgery and disruptions to supply chains and time lost due to testing and illness (might not need hospitalisation if you've been vaccinated, but you might need a couple weeks off work)

I am more scared of being in the wrong place at the wrong time that I hardly go out for anthing anymore and when I do I avoid double check-ins like Westfield then Woolies. I go to stand alone Woolies at slow times when less people are around. There are 1000s of people in 14 day quarantine who can't even go grocery shopping because they were in the wrong place when a Covid case was there. Is FOCT a thing? Fear of Contact Tracers? And I heard that if you are asymptomatic but positive (not sick) they STILL force you into a hospital or something. What about your home responsibilities? In the last month I have left my house maybe 3 or 4 times. And yeah, I never thought in a million years Australia could ever be like that.
