Apparently it will we announced later this morning.
Yep, it'll be a case of "this is the plan." For those who know RACI charts - the premiers wil be "informed" of the decision, not "consulted". They'll need to either sign up or explain to their constituents why not, and then try to stop them jumping state borders to go to Sydney to get out.Apparently it will we announced later this morning.
The international border ban is in place until December 17 but government sources familiar with the discussions told this masthead that will now be lifted a month earlier than previously planned
Australia set to reopen international borders after 18 months
Prime Minister Scott Morrison declares it is “time to give Australians their lives back” and reunite families and loved ones following 18-month of closed borders.www.smh.com.au

I'm getting the feeling that the feds are lining up to crash through the opposition and to get it done by Christmas.
Realistically we know the shrieky Premiers can still squash any plan with their own bizarre HQ rules and caps…. BUT it will be on them this time.
And that makes accountability quite clear. With the huge supply of vaccines (better late than never) there's now no excuses.Yes It is now a matter of luck on which State you live in.
If you live in NSW or Victoria, you know that they are itching to restart international.
But if you live in other states, you know that the Premiers are likely to ignore the direction by Scott Morrison
As I understand they can't ignore it, if above 80% and Scomo's will, he will open that states international border. Up to the state to do what they want with incoming passengers once through immigration. States can block them leaving the airport. Bottleneck of thousands of flyers spilling onto the runways as not enough room in the terminal to house them, with more flights coming in. Be like D Day in Normandy with wave after wave of boats landing ashore.Yes It is now a matter of luck on which State you live in.

And with Scroo and others making noises about High Court action...
The Premiers next move will be interesting.
Perhaps some of those people that AP had said moved to QLD recently, will now rethink.Yes It is now a matter of luck on which State you live in.

Marshall won’t ignore Morrison as he’s signed up. But he has to wrest power from the CHO. Our saving grace is that the power is with the PC and he seems to understand that he can’t push people too far (the pizza gate issue still resonates with him) and he understands civil unrest. He overruled the CHO just last week.Yes It is now a matter of luck on which State you live in.

Civil unrest in South Australia? I couldn't think of anywhere less likely. Don't have the convict stain, you see, unlike the rest of us.Marshall won’t ignore Morrison as he’s signed up.
