Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

I'm sure your fiance will be here before you know it!
I am actually really scared now. She has sinopharm and that 210/week cap is WAAAAAY too low.

If airlines say TGA recognized vaccines on board only, she is done for.

Looks like back to square one - Go overseas and hide out in a third country because she is not allowed in Australia.

It will be like going back to a travel ban

Wow- that's an awesome idea, never thought of it! But would a GP be able to add the vaccination status into that Air system just by seeing it on a zoom call or similar? I could definitely see just my regular GP over over 15 years back in Sydney before I go but need to be confident that it actually works that easily.

You can only ask - get them the copy in advance (even if you have to snail mail a certified true copy in advance).

Other option is perhaps the AKL High Commission?

Since when that, did I miss something? Services Australia website still says the same as it did when I had last checked: You can only do this in person at a "registered immunisation clinic" once you're in the country.

Getting help during coronavirus (COVID-19) - Help adding overseas vaccinations - Services Australia

If there's really a new facility to do this online prior to travel, then please share as I cannot find it anywhere (besides some vague announcements about 'some time in the future'). And yes, Aussie and have Medicare (and an active Service NSW app).

Assuming the process for getting recognised by immigration and recognised by the airline is simple, just focus on making your online health record is up to date and linked to Medicare.

As soon you are in the country pop into a chemist who is a registered vaccine provider and ask them to add it to the AIR - the immunisation register. For me that bit took me <5 mins, I just went to the closest chemist (who are registered vaccine provider, but don't do COVID shots) at a quiet time, and they were happy to do it. The longest and most painful bit for me, having been away for 12+ years was getting my individual health identified (IHI) set up although if it's already set up would be much easier.

Will he commence with a suitably Churchillian quote, cigar and monocle?!

I'm just hoping it doesn't start with "FFS Dom" ;)

As long as he broadly concurs I'm happy. Though I'm tipping they will restrict it to Australians only to start with - bad optics if we have foreign tourists arriving whilst Australians are still stuck overseas. Give them a two week headstart to book their flights or something.

South Australia will not follow NSW's lead on quarantine-free travel

South Australia won't be following the lead of NSW in opening up to fully vaccinated international arrivals.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has announced that, from next month, those who've received two COVID vaccines won't need to quarantine at home or in a medi-hotel.

However, SA Premier Steven Marshall says that is some way off from happening locally.

"We look at the expert advice that we received in South Australia, certainly we want to get to that double vaccinated 80 per cent mark for all those people 16 and over before we're easing out state borders and we'll look at international borders after that," he said.

Agree with justinbrett. Services Australia say “take your Documents to a recognised vaccine provider “. Contact your Australian GP and see if they will be happy with the documents in their hand and you at the other end of the phone

Wow- it is THAT easy, is it? May I ask how long it then took to show up on your Medicare account or does this sync pretty much instantly? I can wait for a few days until I go to the pub (and my new office!) but if it takes a week or longer, than I'd rather try and get it sorted from here still.

Ensure you say you’re happy to pay the full cost of Tele-consultation as medicare rebate applies to services in Australia and dr can’t claim…you can pre-empt any hassle this way. Make sure all your Medicare details are up to date and mygov acct. …good luck

That's why I am wondering if it's worth the $85 bucks for a tele consult if in the end my GP refuses to do it via zoom and/or if it's really as easy as described further up thread to walk into a pharmac_ on arrival and get it done there.

PS - AIR details usually synch 72 hours or less

I'm sure you can just phone up their reception and ask first rather than risking the $85

From memory it was pretty quick. I can't remember it was quite instantaneous, but as my partner was planning to do the same, I i-messaged him a screenshot of a copy of my immunisation history statement showing my Covid vaccines @ 16:16 and I sent a screen shot of my medicare tick at 23:40 that same day, so at most 7 hours, but could have been quicker. He did same thing with different pharmacist in Melbourne, mine was in regional Vic, and just as quick (that bit anyway - I won't go into the lengthy saga he had setting up Individual Health Identifier)!
