Very nice, thanks for uploading this Firefox, and well done Virgin Australia for implementing a feature thats of great use to us!

Can't wait to try it out on my Virgin flight.

Also I guess that it is not like OW where there is a member level consistent across airlines - you would have to list every alliance partner and every level.
Or more simply call the lane, Priority AAccess ®, and then print that on every eligible guest's boarding pass!

Purple is internationally recognised as being a colour associated with sexual frustration.

I would believe in DJ's instance, we could excuse the purple as sexual exhaustion due to the amount of star star star star they are doing to QF at the moment ;)

Well done with implementing what the Qantas "elite" flyers had been yelling at Qantas for years as needing - and Qantas successfully ignored...

Oh, some vitamins, a good nights sleep and plenty of fresh water will help with the exhaustion

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I couldn't help but resist putting up a photo of the priority boarding lines in Perth (not that I'll ever use it myself :(). Beginning to look very swish in T3, despite ongoing works.
A little update on T3 for those interested, New eateries (FINALLY), Seating areas/ tables etc, refitted bathrooms and perhaps most interesting of all new air bridges. I spied 3 new in total - very much a significant expansion from the current (grossly inadequate) 2. It does look like there could be a 4th new one added in the future so watch this space.

Oh and yes, apologies for the quality - damned iPhone...

Virgin Australia,

Any time frame for when they are to be rolled out at MEL?

Well it seems QF has finally reacted to the complaints of no domestic priority boarding by removing the right from the QF web site:

Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Platinum Benefits

Seems QF WPs now get priority boarding only on selected international flights. Way to go Red Roo. NOT!

Hopefully that sign will have "Star Alliance" on it soon!

It really is sad watch management destroy such a good brand like Qantas - Imagine if it was done properly! *drools*

I would love to see it given back to the people....

All this talk of Priority boarding... in principle it's great, and I applaud VA for doing it.

HOWEVER... has anyone ever used it, has any one ever SEEN any one using it?

I'm DJ Gold, usually fly two or three legs a week and am yet to spot anyone use it, and I haven't myself... mainly cos I'd feel like a bit of a tosser (maybe a WP - which hopefully I'll become later this year...!) Compouded by the fact that there is usually only one member of staff scanning passes, so the regular queue will have to wait as I'm scanned in?

Anyone else feel the same?
Or - as usual - is it just me?

Cheers,
D-H.

Yup, I've used it.

It's a priority lane -- that's exactly what it's there for. Yes, the regular queue is held up while they scan your boarding passes. Yes, you'll get evil looks from a few other pax in queue. Fact remains that you'll end up on board before they will and you'll have space in the overhead bins near your seat, where they might not. All part of the fun! :)

DH I was with you. I saw them but wouldn't use them through fear of being a wanker. On Monday evening flying back from Sydney I went to the gate and it was very busy. I stood by the side texting trying to gather the courage to go down the line. Two guys in suits walked straight passed all the pax, had their BPs scanned and went down aerobridge. Right, I said to myself and followed suit. Maybe I got glares - but I didn't turn back to look. Plenty of time to get on board, put my bag in the locker (has been a struggle lately on DJ) and settle in.

Use it - you have earned the status to be entitled to the service.

NB: there was one person scanning passes. She stopped the normal queue, scanned us, then returned to general boarding.

I haven't flown DJ however I use the priority lanes wherever possible(for *A SG or OW SG/WP Int.), particularly in the LOTFAP. There, if you don't get in early and grab a spot for your carry-on you're struggling to find one by the time the plane is half full due to the ridiculous amount they allow pax.....

No different to the Express Lane at Immigration or Customs. If I'm entitled to use it I will.

Hey if your entitled to go for it, but I get not wanting to look like a wanker lol.

What does it make me then if the highlight of my flight is pushing infront of all the pax (who have been standing at the boarding gate for an hour before the flight) at OOL when they call for boarding for Golds/PE/Other status pax.
