Condsidering that the cost of purchasing 20K points is about the same as a night's accomodation, you get great value for money!! Soon we'll be welcoming you to the dual Plat club.

Dual Plat... is this a new invention? I've got 140 nights this year so I'm well and truely Plat but always looking for a few extra rewards....

Ah, no, I was referring to JohnK being a Plat (highest status level) in both an FF program as well as a frequent guest (FG) program.

Don't knock Rooty Hill. I recently had a $90 qualifying stay here to kick off the Triple Points promo
I booked a king room for $121 to kick off the triple points promotion. And I got upgraded to executive floor with a complimentary bottle of water and apple.

One good one though is the IC Bangkok, which for 5000 points and $40 can get you an executive floor room!
I just noticed that this hotel is available for only 5000 points!

I want to play golf Monday morning but it is almost worth booking the Intercontinental Bangkok for Sunday afternoon/night and hiring a driver for the 2-3 hour trip very early Monday morning.

Whoops. Forgot to mention that here. Mentioned it at flyertalk though.

$149 for above, or $242 for 10% off.
i.e. $93 = $50 Hotel Credit, Breakfast for 2 and 2 BOGOs...

I'd be mighty annoyed if you did get the whole package for $149 after paying full rate for it :)

Still, $149 isn't a bad deal if you mainly stay at Holiday Inn / Crowne Plaza. The BOGOs make the more expensive deal worthwhile if you stay at Intercontinental...

Does anyone know if you use the $50 credit do you still receive PC points for the purchase?

Not in my experience (although if applied against a $100 charge, you still get points on the other $50 (exc the GST bit))

Hello all,

I'm a new priority club/ambassador member and have joined to try and take advantage of the free upgrade/free weekend night/late check out options for our honeymoon in Perth/Las Vegas (no Intercontinental hotels here I believe *sad*) /Bora Bora.

Any advice on special offers I could try and use when booking (yes I am leaving it extremely late but don't think there will be any issues with getting rooms in mid - late January).

I've had a quick read through this thread but am on information overload at the moment!

thanks in advance :)

There is an IC @ Burswood (Perth), which is located next to the casino; however as per Dave Noble's stay last week, you would want to try and get a room towards the back of the hotel, as the noise from Paddy Hannan's (the pub) can be quite annoying.

Hi same as chap above new ambassador PC - going to Singapore for new years - 1st trip further than Ausy - IC kinda pricey any suggestions of search engines/good experiences of good Hotels in that neck of the woods ? (7days) Rgds Andrew

The triple points bonus for Q4 07 looks wrong on my account..

For example.

Qualifying Stay 2000 pts.
platinum bonus 1000 pts.
q4 triple points/miles 2007 4000 pts.

Total 7000 pts.

How does triple 2000 = 4000? that was double when I was at school.

All my Stays have the same calculations and 90% were booked over the web.

Qualifying Stay 1654 pts
platinum bonus 827 pts
q4 triple points/miles 2007 3306 pts
book online quadruple points 1654 pts

millesm,

If you look at the way markis10's points have posted you'll see yours have been calculated the same way. The part missing is the 2000 bonus for booking online (if you did).

2000 base points &
4000 extra points.

This equals 6000 points which is triple base points.
Then there is the 1000 Plat bonus &
2000 points for booking online.
The total should read 9000 points if booked online.

What you appear to be missing is the 2000 points for the online booking.

That is how mine calculated out also.
