Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

Meanwhile, this deluded individual thinks someone is going to stump up $50 per pass!!?
I know what I'd do with my hundred bucks

They will easily sell them at that price.

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

That individual isn't deluded, if anything it shows your naivety to the QP pass black market

Indeed. Have a look at Ebay completed sales. QP passes regularly go for $50-70 each.

Mannej, I had NO idea !!
In that case, I'll put the half dozen I own on gumtree and spend the money in decent restaurants.

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

Great if you have a full tilt Amex Platinum Charge Card but in my circumstance - Citibank Signature Visa which grants 2 accesses a year then pay after - once i have used up my 2 freebies i would paying 27$ USD (36 AUD) which is of no benefit (plus I would need to ensure I actually used up the amount). Some 'cards' have all the fun!

I have the same. To confirm, if you used the $36 on the same day twice at two outlets, does that count as two "visits"?

Naturally:-

PRIORITY PASS ENEWSLETTER said:
Members can use their valid membership card to receive AUD$36 credit off the final bill at each outlet, for themselves and their guests. Each AUD$36 credit will represent a single lounge visit within their current membership plan. Terms and conditions apply.

So essentially each outlet/restaurant is like a single lounge. You can "visit" once a day and get the $36 credit. If you have Priority Pass with free access and free unlimited guests (like the Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa), then you and each guest gets the $36 credit at each restaurant. That's quite a deal!

So, if you have a Priority Pass with guesting privileges in Terminal 1 taking 2 guests, you could potentially spend $324. ($108 at each of the three outlets).

For reference, here's some more details from PriorityPass.com listing for each outlet:

[h=4]Conditions[/h]1. Cardholder upon entry must present a valid card to staff who will swipe and record the visit including accompanying guests. 2. Only guests registered as accompanying the Cardholder are eligible for AUD$36 per person per visit off final bill. 3. AUD$36 is non-transferable & cannot be exchanged for cash substitute or refund if final payment is lower than AUD$36 per person per visit. 4. Cardholder is responsible for the remaining balance should total final bill exceed AUD$36 per person.

[h=4]Additional Information[/h]5. AUD$36 offer is valid to purchase any type of meal and/or drink. 6. AUD$36 per person per visit will be deducted from the total final bill. 7. If the restaurant is unable to grant the credit, under no circumstances will an offer of compensation, cash substitute or similar be provided by any party. 8. Please note that the restaurant may exceed their seating limit at certain times of the day and access to the restaurant is at the restaurant’s sole discretion.

I suspect that there are not too many people in these parts that hold a Chase Sapphire Reserve Visa!

You get the unlimited PP membership with the Amex Platinum charge card in Australia.

Is there anything in the T&C's that state you need a valid boarding pass for that day? If not, could be interesting.

I've heard numerous reports about restaurants not asking to sight one.

I wasn't asked for one the two times I've been.

Just to clarify, if you're taking in a guest with Priority pass - you essentially have $36 X 2 = $72 off the final bill?

any reports back on use? have a domestic on Virgin tomorrow - might give it a crack instead of the VA lounge

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

Am using it now. Seems great!

yeah nice did you go to Movida or the other one?

i used it at movida with 2 pax, was tempted to get some take-out snacks since the bill was only $39 but didn't bother in the end.

was pretty simple, they only asked for ID and the card, no boarding pass so no dramas.

Re: Using Priority Pass in Sydney

We'll be flying from SYD to AKL on a Monday morning in a few weeks and have booked to stay at the Rydges Sydney Airport on the Sunday night. We'd like to use the Priority Pass card which I have from the Amex Platinum Charge card to eat at Mach2 in Terminal 1 that night. I gather from other comments in this thread that we shouldn't be asked for a boarding pass so should be right.

Has anyone been asked for a boarding pass when using the PP to eat at Mach2 in Terminal 1?
