Sure enough my QF23 in October is upgradeable! However I am travelling with my partner who a) is not on the same itinerary as we are connecting from different cities and b) I only have enough points to upgrade myself! Disappointing because we were both looking to do our first int J trip together!

In your case I would save the points & put them towards a JASA to retain your SG or maybe going for WP.
My first J flight was in 2011 and I'll never forget it, thanks to the great QF staff.

No email, Class 'O' tickets. Upgrade request accepted for QF19 late September.

Many thanks OPs.

How much would u hope spend on a JASA SYD-SIN?

Me too, flights mel-sin, sin-mel in November, O class booking, upgrade request submitted!

Thanks OP!!!

Score!

Just had to put a transfer request through so I can steal enough of Mr k_sheep's points to try to upgrade me and my Mumsie :) I bought her tickets for us to go to SIN in Oct. Muito bom :)

O class booked a few weeks ago for SYD-BKK return, QF23/24, in October 2013. Didn't receive the email - but I went online and submitted the upgrade request for the BKK-SYD flight, I could have done the request for both legs, but don't have enough points for both legs (2 of us flying on the same PNR). Absolutely brilliant if it comes through, I hate and loathe overnight flights in whY (like most here on this forum).

Currently less than 200K points from SYD. You can use the slider to reduce that with a cash component.
In comparison a classic award would cost 120K points plus taxes, fuel surcharge etc etc.

Just requested 4 upgrades Y to J for my upcoming LA and SCL trips: 288,000 points if they all go through..ouch! Earn and burn!!!!

I just managed to request upgrades for 3 international flights all booked in deep discount economy...thanks for the tip guys!

I got my email this am, and requested J upgrades to and from LAX this week. I already had 30A so won't be upset if they don't come through.

now have the option to upgrade my discount whY flight to BKK but am a bit short on points so will just leave my request for the return flight in flex whY which was requested a while back

Already had received an offer to upgrade with my discount Y fares MEL to JFK with the latest offer also have now included the LAX to JFK flight. The wife or I have never flown int J before so hope it comes through. We are off on Sunday.

It would appear my flight back to SIN in a couple of weeks is eligible for upgrade.

Personally I feel 25,000 QFF to upgrade to premium economy and 40,000 QFF to upgrade to business class is a little expensive considering a business any seat award is not much more and also earns business class SCs and QFF points.

Wow.. Appreciate the big heads up. My .br flights to LHR are now upgradable. Surely it's worth burning the points? 196k to upgrade to J for Mel-LHR, 48k for LHR-dxb, 144k for dxb-Mel (all for 2 pax)

The question is, what to do? Have about 280k pts available. Thinking the way over might be best, allows us to hit the ground running? 48k doesn't sound too bad for a 6-7 hr flight, the killer would be having to switch back to Y for the second leg

So it looks like today is the last day you can register for an upgrade in the current promo. Good luck all, I hope everyone who really wants the upgrade gets it.

Managed to slip another request in for an 'O' class QF SIN-SYD flight I'd forgotten about, that was within a Finnair itinerary in October :) Now, as the AY itinerary appears twice in MMB for some reason (both accurate - one with seat allocations, one without), I'm not totally convinced it will work, but doesn't hurt to try! I have added request to the ticketed booking reference (the one with seat allocations on it).

I've only put in a request for my return flight (DXB-MEL). Wish I had enough points for Mel-LHR as well but I'm a long way off. And would rather J on return than PE on the way over... Fingers crossed having an exit row makes me a more suitable upgrade.
