Q bag tags

I am so glad I'm not the only one who learnt this the hard way. 😂
Having never tested this (yet...), what happened?

These tags sound like potentially creating problems when travelling. I have only ever used mine as drinks coasters.

They go both ways. Very handy to have on you...

My luggage was not loaded in Melbourne through to Adelaide as the two Q tags conflicted with each other and the system didn't know where to take it. Had to return to the airport the next day to retrieve it.

I've tried 3-4 times over the past 18 months but each occasion was told it was on pause due to covid. Will try again.
Well, I did a spring clean and found two lots of unused Gold Q bag tags.....

it’s feasible that if you are in Radelaide, I could deliver them to you. Not real keen on posting them.
alternately, between now and February I’m planning on travelling to sydney, melb, brisvegas and Perth plus still in the mix for AFF Newcastle....
PM would be the best option

Yea I discovered this in 2018.....
fortunatEly, this occurred at the baggage drop so I was able to remove one of the tags

The other thing I discovered recently in Perth was that anyone can use any Q bag tag as the system IGNORES the actual colour of your bag-tag. It’s the boarding pass that triggers the baggage priority level not the tag

But five years or so from now, when I could be a pleb again (shudder!), I can still swan around displaying my Platinum bags tags and feel superior. Not that I think anyone actually notices them. 😢

Thanks Capt! That's very kind of you. QFF have written back saying they will post out a Q tag and card in the next 14 business days. Will share back what the design looks like!

Absolutely. I rarely travel in Australia with checked bags but the tag looks cool on my carry on.

Anyone received a membership kit for attaining new status recently? My dad just attained WP and his kit had 2 tags in it instead of the 1 that they switched to during COVID. Also was the kangaroo-only design, not the 100 year anniversary ones they've been sending out for a few years now.

Well that sounds good, two tags.

Perhaps receiving kangaroo tags means the anniversary tags have now run out? Logical after this length of time.
