Nearly worth a new thread but...

How long until the next lot of QF 73H's turn up? From what I've read there should eventually be ZQD, ZQE & ZQF for Jetconnect and another 25 for Australian DOM duties, replacing the 734's being used both domestically and TT routes.

Most importantly I'm stuck on AKL-MEL QF132 in a couple months, which is scheduled as a 737 classic. Would much prefer the Silverwing over Millennium seats. What chances it will get swapped besides something going unserviceable?

I really should give EK a go, am running out of J options to try AKL-OZ.

Hi, as I think I mentioned earlier in this post, I have tickets AKL - SYD in EK J on their 380 at the beginning of Sept for just under $400 each. Try getting that price on QF...

In this case my flight is a JASA (anyseat reward) ticket, but indeed if you're paying for J and don't need a specific flight time then EK and LA are both much more affordable options and on wide body aircraft with much better hard products. That said I enjoyed NZ in J, even though it was only on an A320 - staff can really dictate the whole experience.

...and of course if you want a direct flight from AKL to MEL, then you can forget EK and LAN anyway....

...on that same journey I'm also heading to AKL from MEL, also on a JASA. How much do I love getting an ASA for pretty much the same price as a Classic Award and getting the status credits? Oh yeah. :D

Haven't tried Air NZ as yet. Do like my lounge access and QF scs usually, but price on EK was just too good this time.
