They are frequently seen lurking at the bottom of QF-related threads. A post will occasionally be made to clear up a bad misconception, but that’s about all I’ve seen lately.

Although as noted, have been away for 4 days.

Poor internet coverage at LRE, where I suspect quite a few of the QF crew have been on the special 737 charter!

The museum was booked for a function on the 20th only. If they’re still there, and I notice there were thunderstorms again there this weekend, they’re not in the museum :p

And yes, the internet there is poor.

The 737 charter came back this morning, I think Red Roo has a life outside of work:D

Ok so I am sat in the new revamped J lounge in SYD - yes it is expanded and yes there is the island dining option but I am not seeing any new food. Am i missing something here? Should there be a menu or a new buffet? I know it is 10:30AM but I am not seeing any improvement really.

Where exactly do they serve the hot food here in the mornings? I have never seen anything other than standard pastries...

Heres hoping that tomorrow in MEL the might be some food around 4PM...

I believe it may relate to meal times.

Have you considered asking?

My recent experiences during 'core' meal times have only been between 7am and 9am at MEL - the hot breakfast stuff was cleared away at 8:45am "on the dot".

I had a similar experience in the ME J yesterday, arrived after 4 and I saw the dining table, but no placings and no hot food. That arrived a little later, around 5 perhaps, but I wasn’t checking. Food looked awful, but tasted great.

I hope it isn't 7AM - the latest flight i generally get is 6:30...

 - I should have phrased that better; I have been at the JL between 7am and 9am. The hot breakfast was already available the time I arrived at 7am.

slightly off topic but here is an article about our friend, Neil....
Perry's progress
I think Kerry Packer got it right....

Have they started this in Mel yet?

Was in Sydney the other day and was quite impressed. Nice soup. Like mums.
I think they've had to refurbish the kitchen a little in SYD.

MEL has had hot breakfasts for at least two months.

I had the trans Tasman entree on SYD-WLG in J on Friday. It was a cream of asparagus soup. Not heated on board - it comes with the catering in a thermos and is served.

The mains are also now served direct from the galley - the trolley only comes out during the entree service.

Was surprisingly decent.

I will report back on what is served WLG-MEL today.

LOL I had soup served like that before. It was a domestic J refreshment (evening) service; zucchini and boccocini soup. Despite the unorthodox method of serving, it was delicious.

I had a slice of pizza (rosemary and garlic) on Friday in MEL during the thunderstorms (3 hour flight home to SYD...) - quite nice.

I have a slightly later flight out on Thursday and a much later flight home on Thursday evening so I might get to sample the best of both...

What tome does it start? Sitting in the j lounge now.

It was all out when I arrived in the lounge about 5:20pm.

Love transferring from MEL Int to MEL Dom. Time from int gate to Dom J lounge - 12 mins. It of course helped being the first person off the plane :)
