What exactly might "Enhanced personal recognition for Frequent Flyers by Cabin Crew" in economy be referring to?

Think I better just keep flying J

Maybe instead of "a special welcome to our Qantas and oneworld frequent flyers" they'll make it more specific.

"A very special welcome to our Qantas Chairmans Lounge and Platinum frequent flyers"

Maybe it's like in international - a lead member of the cabin crew comes down and introduces themselves (and, gasp, addresses you by name!), asks you to let them know if there's anything they can do for you etc.

I'm Platinum and I get that on every trip - but if you're nice and they're nice you can ask for (and get) little treats from biz or first (eg a glass of champers or Noble Rot).

Well I'm still waiting... ;)

Actually since I travel on mostly infrequent flyer routes & times, there are very few status pax, especially SG or WP. So I can't believe it would be that difficult at least to say hi. Often I end up in the galley after they've cleaned up and have a chat if they're not busy - great way to pass time. I'd talk to fellow pax but QF like to allocate people well away from me for some reason...

Those approximate times you mentioned were for the QP's, what about the J lounges? I'm wondering if the BNE J lounge will be all done up in the next few weeks. It could really do with some subtlety lit area.

he says Melbourne gets it next week, then Brisbane in December and Adelaide the week before Australia Day, or vice versa (eg Adelaide first, then Brisbane), he couldn't recall.

I hope BNE gets it first, as I’m flying through BNE in J in mid-December.

. Perth already has it (as of course does Canberra).

As far as I've seen the last few weeks, the only thing that Perth has is the NGCI. No J lounge, no enhanced food and still too many QF-Link flights.

I almost forgot to mention, we also have bloody Apple computers now. If they wanted to move from Windoze I'd have been happier with Linux!

About 1 month ago on ADL to SYD in seat 6D had the CSM come and welcome the few Platinums at the front of the whY cabin and offer a drink from the J bar which was very pleasing for all of us...was in 7C from ADL to PER last Tuesday and it was back to situation normal, no personal welcome or drink in a proper glass from the J trolley.
The lack of consistency is disappointing!

Indeed, something small like that seems quite acceptable (let's not compare ourselves to the EXP's on AA). I'd be happy with just the personal greeting, especially when they're specifically greeting other people - I always figured it was WP's who got cough seats :)

I asked at ADL QP today re: new menus and/or retrofitting. They had no clue whatsever - "we haven't been told anything". Actually I find the BNE staff more responsive IME, better asking them.

I got a personal welcome by a senior CSM once to CBR and was so pleased wrote to Qantas. Lovely lady, ignored all the riff raff around me. Gave me an extra wine!

Sitting in SFO Admirals Club having just arrived on QF73 waiting for a connecting flight. Got a personal welcome on board from the CSM. Asked for a glass of J bubbles and was happily supplied prior to take off. The guy next to me was wondering what was going on (no ff info on his bp at all and was in 36A - Y+ seat sold as Y)

Was done discretely and was a little awkward but the champagne fixed that up ;)

QF domestic J lounge at Syd-no hot food at lunch time at W/E

NO hot meal / dish (apart from standard soup) at lunch time on weekends at QF domestic J lounge at Syd:mad: Only hot food after 5pm on w/e's! Typical QF...after all the publicity, they pull this "stunt". Can confirm that metal knifes are back:), and liquorice has now appeared:). As others have confirmed, there is a centre long table for a sit down meal, and some space has been "acquired" from the QF club. Also bigger plates to pile your food onto:oops:

The new Apple computers are very nice...and I like how you have a choice of choosing either the Mac or Windows operating system.

I was hoping for any other type of sweet than liquorice :(

Unfortunate that hot meal service is only during the week, perhaps there’s just not enough demand?

Two recentJ lounge experiences have bee at 8am in MEL on Saturday mornings. Eggs, Bacon, Spinach/tomato, Hashbrowns/sausages have were vaiously available.

Tried the pizza in the SYD T2 QP last night. I wasn't all that impressed, to be honest. The pumpkin and fetta pizza was all soggy, and the ham + tomato one was dry and leathery, but I'm sure they'll improve. I found myself longing for the NNPPP's (non Neil Perry Party Pies).

I also noticed the pizza didn't disappear anywhere near as quickly as the pies/dim sims/chicken bits/etc of old. There were quite a few less people in there though, for some reason. The pizza had probably been sitting there for a while, which may not have helped my impression.

Will give it another go (all in the sake of research), before I pass judgement :)

Had the pumpkin & fetta one at the CBR QP on Wednesday and had the opposite experience... cardboard.

Now, if they could get it somewhere in between
