Qantas Airways Ltd. is revamping business-class services

I always do this in BKK. Go to the 4th floor buy a nice Pad Thai to take away and then on to the lounge. A lot of puzzled faces every time :p
its always quite exciting to see different faces at airports and checking out people.

That's 'cause the variable configuration allows up to 20 "Business Class" passengers (73H only 12) - very useful around the times parliament is sitting.

No wonder the government wastes so much money on parliamentary travel. They're ponying up money for J flights in an inferior product.

Of course, switch to a 738 and some pollies mightn't be happy having to sit in Y; and some WPs mightn't be happy to have to sit in row 6 or further aft.

Probably the highest concentration of CL and WP in the country at times on those flights.

That's what I hate about CBR. Priority tags are useless, because everyone who flies in and out of there is at least paid QP, but mostly SG or above. And the QP is always full, unless you're there at 6am or there for the last flight out at night.

You should probably hate more that you can never get a J seat unless you bend over for it, because some CL either grabs it or the gummy-ment buys them all. Also, if QF don't chase those pesky ones out of the CL fast enough, they end up holding up the plane and OTD.

IME J Lounge is not always bad out of CBR, and of course every time I've taken a flight out of CBR the front end of the plane is full. Wouldn't know about the QP (but it does have a better view than the J Lounge).

Democracy comes at a price!

Bending over for it would be pretty meaningless in CBR, there are a lot more important affairs of state to attend to........like ones Status.

As of today that all changes, because the 1st stage of the new Canberra terminal opens, signaling an end to the Qantas end of the existing terminal. So new lounges for Canberra.

The new CBR QP is the second largest in Australia, apparently. I'm looking forward to checking out the new J lounge this Friday.

In BKK my stardard routine is to detour to Burger King and then eat in the lounge. For me, the food in the BKK lounges is very disappointing (while HKG is great).

The same with MEL International J, i've been known to stop off at Hungry Jack's and take through security (no drinks obviously) if not expecting a full meal after takeoff.

Of course the F lounge is completely different and the flight attendants often query why I don't eat much after takeoff!

...and wood fired pizza sounds good - but are they really going to have a wood fire in the middle of an airport?

Looking forward to wood fired pizzas and a candy bar, but I hope they’ve also decided the should provide more food because there’s always a rush, and new food that’s better is only going to mean there’s less chance of getting it.

But no wood fired pizza in the J lounge :( One of my favourite foods...

They had pizza in the SYD J lounge when I was there on Sunday - allegedly "wood fired".

There was an eggplant one, and a pepperoni one.

Wasn't too bad. Not even close to the awesomeness of a true wood fired pizza though :)

I'm curious to see what the entree option ends up being for TT. Hopefully it has rolled out when I fly SYD-WLG in J next Friday.

I wouldn't have called the pizza in the J lounge in Sydney a 'wood fired' pizza.

What exactly might "Enhanced personal recognition for Frequent Flyers by Cabin Crew" in economy be referring to?

Think I better just keep flying J
