Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

Checked my Qantas FF account this morning and 87,100 points have been swept across already?
So, we now know, $50 Qantas Voucher will activate the lounge passes, and that even if you currently (even only recently got/have another Amex issued card (velocity plat in my case) you can still receive the bonus points.

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

That was a quickest approval I've seen.

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

Do I get the bonus point if I currently have an Amex credit card issued by ANZ (ANZ QFF Black)?

You should do. This doesn't count as an American express issued card :)

Oh nice, thanks :)

I will do it now :p

Btw, they say it when you apply that you should tick 'no' if you have an Amex credit card issued by another bank

A reminder for anyone thinking of applying that this is due to end on Feb 29.

Still deciding on whether to go for this one or not. The annual fee seems steep.

$249 / 80,000 = $0.0031125 cents per point. Or get 1 QFF per $.

It is steep compared to many of the current and previous offerings available.

I like, though, to think of averaging down. So for example, I get the 75,000 QFF points from the current offering for $0 and the 80,000 QFF points from AMEX for $249. So a total of 155000 QFF points for a price of $249.

Not so bad when you look at it that way.

There's also the benefit that some may be concerned about as to a hit to the credit score. In the above example you take 2 hits for 155,000 points. If you look at the smaller points offerings recently from Jetstar and Macquarie bank, you would take 2 hits for a total of 80,000 points. If this is a concern of yours it may be a relevant factor.

At a cost of 0.3 cents per point I challenge you to find better value :D. 24900 cents divided by 82500 points = 0.3 cents per point

MEL-LHR in Y would only earn you 24800 Return points with the cheapest flight being circa $1800.00 return comes out at around 7.3 cents per point or 24 times more expensive to gain those points. Oh and lets not forget the points earned for the spend too:D

Even if we went business class discount fare we are looking at circa $8000.00 return with points earned for WP being 62000 return equates to almost 13 cents per point so around 40 times the cost of the offer on the Amex Card.

Now lets compare First class 74400 points for a spend of $13000.00 so a cost of around 17.5 cents per point or roughly 58 times the cost of the points earned flying F MEL-LHR return

With all respect the $249.00 annual fee for that amount of points at 0.3 cents each is a no brainer to me :D :D :D

You can cash out straight away for a minimum value of $525 in wish gift cards.

Thought it was BNE mis-spelt, so checked my Expert Flyer Airport code, it came up as a blank. Have just checked it again, lo and behold, it now says Broome..

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

So is the $50 Qantas voucher the cheapest option available to claim the bonus points and lounge passes for those that don't have any other Qantas payments to make?

It was the cheapest and easiest I could come across - mind you Cruiserette will use the voucher sooner or later so it was a monty really.

Thanks Cruiser - I don't have any QF flights coming up in the near future but I'm sure I'll find a use for it.

Applied this morning, clicked SUBMIT, instant approval. Easiest application process ever.

(I used a referral link from that other thread as a thank-you to all the AFFers who share so generously. Hope you get the points, EA.)
