Hello Black Box,

You should be fine. Bank issued amex cards, such as those from anz, do not count as issued by amex Australia.

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

I like, though, to think of averaging down. So for example, I get the 75,000 QFF points from the current offering for $0 and the 80,000 QFF points from AMEX for $249. So a total of 155000 QFF points for a price of $249.

Exactly how I look at it....... I got the ANZ 75000, wife got Amex Premium 80000 and my wife referred Amex Mum and Dad separately ( 95000 inc referral each ) and Both Mum and Dad separately got ANZ as well....family transfers are in order here and I paid the annual fee for all cards.

75k + 80K + 95k + 95k + 75k + 75k = 490k plus a few bonuses so approx 500k QFF and 6 x Qantas club Invites for 3 x $249

May just be a day or five before the card arrives unannounced :)

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

Partner was referred, but then an approval sms a day or more later.

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

Approved!

Seems they had been trying to contact me, but I'd typed my mobile phone number in incorrectly.

Now have 3 cards under different offers concurrently - probably the limit at one time I think for me.

Intend to spend the $3000 quickly and dump the card straight away. If I've read above correctly they payout on the points very quickly.

Applied 27th of Jan
Approval confirmed via sms 30th Jan
Card arrived 4th Feb
first spend with Qantas 6th Feb triggered the 2500 Qantas Bonus and Lounge passes as well as first 5k bonus
87k points appeared in my Qantas account 20th of Feb.

All in all, no complaints about anything at all

Hi

Has any one received the Passes yet?

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

I applied Sunday and received my card today.

So the cheapest option to get the first spent points is to buy a $50 voucher from Qantas. Does it also work if I buy points from Qantas ?

I've seen other options mentionned by exceladdict and Ansett but I don't understand it at all. Can someone explain ? :)

- You can cash out straight away for a minimum value of $525 in wish gift cards.
- Or Redeem for a MEL-BME flight in J for 72000 points and $66.00 valued at over $4000.00

we were referring to what could be done with the points received I.E. use to buy gift cards or use the points to buy 1 J class return airfare MEL-BME. It was nothing to do with the minimum $3000.00 spend required for the 80000 points from AMEX.

Hope that clarifies that side of it

I don't like the look of that. See what happens when you hit 3k, but to me it looks like you've been tagged to the wrong offer. Your 75k should come across as "Welcome Bonus".

Be sure to take a screenshot of the offer form the referral link you used, and if the points dont come up when you hit 3k, contact amex.

amex changed the image of the offer on their website. Do they offer 30,000 more ?

No, it looks like the new offer is 30,000, replacing the old 80,000 offer. Which makes me even more confused about the 42,500 you received.

Either way assuming you applied via the previous offer (which is where a screenshot of before your application will help as evidence), as long as you meet the criteria of the previous offer, you should be awarded according to it.

EDIT: I clicked on one of the referral links and it is still showing the 80k referral offer, valid for applications by 29 February
