Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

For those with the card who can generate a referral link, is there any new customer sign on bonus with a referral?

Current referral offer is 50k (47.5 on $500 spend, 2.5k on QF spend) for applicant, 15k to the referrer on approval. $249 annual fee.

FYI, I called today to cancel this card and to allocate the available credit limit over onto my Velocity card.
just before closing the account he asked why I wanted to close it, I said that I fly virgin and i am no longer really chasing the QFF points, I was offered 23k points to keep it open.

I just reduced the limit to 2k and moved over the rest of the limit to the Velocity card. will actually cancel the card in the few months.

23,000QFF points seems like an odd figure. But generous nonetheless.

Was your card up for the annual fee? Do you have to pay the annual fee to get the points?

I spent 2.50 on a carbon offset and that worked

Only had the card since Jan/Feb, he didn't say I had to pay the fee next year or anything?

Might use you line if I ever decide to cancel my amex cc in future.

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

Has anyone else had serious issues getting their hands on the lounge passes? I've called 5-6 times, am assured each time that they will look into it, and still nothing. I made the qualifying purchase back in Feb...

I want to cancel this one but am waiting until those passes arrive.

Check to see if your address in Qantas matches with what you have given Amex. I found that to be my problem initially. So changed my Qantas address to match Amex and the passes arrived.

Thanks nightelves. Addresses for both have always been the same (my home address) and Amex insists they asked Qantas to send them. Has anyone ever chased up with Qantas directly?

Nah you have to chase it up with Amex. Qantas won't do nothing for you. Make them escalate the request. But generally speaking it will take about 6-8 weeks for it to arrive. That's what Amex usually quote.

Thanks again nightelves. I'll just have to keep pressuring them...

Re: Qantas American Express Premium card /82,500 QFF points / $249 / $3k spend 3 mont

I got a flight in a couple weeks but only made the Qantas purchase about 1-2 weeks ago. I am not holding my breath but the passes would be nice.

Does anybody has issue receiving these lounge passes ?

My details on both website matches perfectly but I still haven't received them. It has been 5 months already and I called them and emailed many times already.
They said it has been sent in february... :(

We had issues too. I emailed AMEX, and they reissued them (apparently) - still not received, but we were told to allow 6 weeks (after 10 days processing time). Frustrating since the 2 opportunities to use he lounge passes have now passed. Next flights are Virgin.

Same here. Made the qualifying purchase back in Feb and have been chasing them since. Have missed 2 chances to use them and am getting increasingly frustrated.

If several of us are experiencing the same thing, there must be an issue with how AMEX requests the passes from Qantas....

I gave up, and cancelled the card in favor of the Plat Edge.

Got mine, wife had issues with hers. They have allegedly re-issued them. Now to wait and see.
