Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

I can see award Biz availability MEL - LAX and back for multiple pax in early Oct 22 but obviously can't login to book it.. Qantas just can't get it right can they..

Oh, did logging in on the phone work for you? I'm still getting an error after entering my FF# and PIN.

Oh I didn't even wait, I saw the reports here of some issues of logging in so I just called - done and dusted.

Now about to hunt down some LHR J seats hopefully for family!

I called up to try and book over phone but the guy couldn't see the same flights as me (on multiple days as well), so I just gave up :(

Call centre couldn’t see my seat so couldn’t book.

However login on website just worked. Just snagged a DFW-SYD flight in J for next June. Winning!

Is anyone sure this isn’t fake availability? The flight I’m looking at on QF (J award) is showing up on expert flyer as U0.
I looked at all of the ones posted on Facebook etc and none show up on EF
They don’t show up on AA or BA either which I suppose is a good thing otherwise the bloggers would be all over this

Similar issues with BNE-LAX with the Jetconnect operated A330s. Popping up as U0 yet reward availability shows for the route in November.

I can login, but the website is terribly slow and the flight booking page isn't loading for me.

Will be keen to see the availability once the initial flurry of people making gazzillion J bookings and cleaning out the house? Wonder if we will go to status quo in a week, or if they will actually keep releasing a reasonable amount of reward seats.

My guess is this is it.

So its a one off gesture. I'm not sure how it is really going to improve things. Unless someone is fast, and jumps on the bandwagon today, or in the next couple of days, if things don't improve long terms, I don't see why they are even bothering.

Agreed. Lucky to grab some 2x family members J seats for BNE-LAX in November and on the redeye both ways (QF15/QF16).

It's not about improving things. It's about being seen to having made a gesture of contrition.

Haha, well this is interesting. So I called through and got through to Hobart (yay) with ~2-3 minutes on hold.

Told them what flight I wanted to change my flight to (QF11 Nov 25th Business Reward), but they told me they couldn't see the availability on their end, but they could see one via. Melbourne on QF93 on the same day. I put it up to someone snatching the flight just before, and the website hadn't updated yet. So I agreed to go ahead with the Melbourne routing, and I was put on hold while the operator processed the booking (he told me that Hobart had just switched to a new system, and he was still training?).

While I was on hold, I saw posts in this thread (thanks everyone!) that the website started working again, and I saw that QF11 was still bookable. I managed to book it for the date I wanted, and when the operator came back on the line I apologised and told him to cancel the flight I just had him change me onto. I also had them double check my new booking to ensure there was nothing wrong with it (there wasn't!).

We were both a bit confused why I could see it on the website but he couldn't see it in his system, hopefully this isn't a regular occurrence.

Either way, great service from Hobart as usual. Just wish I could get them on the line every time I call QF.

edit: and it's ticketed 👍
