Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I think you are being polite just calling it underwhelming.
Oh wow, this is dismal! I saw this and first thought "Oh, that looks nice for breakfast" and only then realised this is supposed to be a lunchtime offering!

That said, what I ate was fine, albeit small, and service was excellent, lead by Mike the CSM, with drinks trolleys out within about 10 minutes. PDB was water or the sparkling juice.

Cheese was good, though crisp bread all a bit cheap and I was definitely over the almonds by now (smoked almonds along with the pre-lunch drink, toasted almonds with the mozzarella and plain almonds as above with the cheese).

Good flight but a very average menu and sadly one I’m sure to get again soon.

Oh dear God I'm glad to see you didn't have the beef... NZ_Flyer did warn us in advance and you were smart enough to avoid disaster...

What’s this one- looks delicious!

I’m struggling to remember .... was suffering from the previous nights high jinx that flight. I think is was pretty tasty.

Amaroo is that a special vegetarian meal? I have a theory that 'dirty plates' = special meal as they tend to cover them with foil and heat them too much/too little... what was it?

No, stock standard meal. Promise to make more of an effort remembering the details.

Less high jinx more attention to the food :)

1C on the 717

Water offered pre take off.

Pork belly with mash for lunch, better than average. A somewhat tannic but otherwise quaffable Credaro cabernet from Margs accompanied.

Good flight in 1C on the 738. Maggie’s brew or water offered pre take off.

On advice from FA Maggie that the beef was very small, went for the very British sounding order of fish with mushy peas. Was actually very good (and coming from PER that’s saying a lot). A double bonus tonight as the Eden Hall 2014 Cabernet punched way above its weight - a very balanced wine. Must look this one up at Dan’s, this is one to add to MrsDrJ’s and my quaffer rotation.

Maggie’s vanilla bean ice cream for dessert, forewent the dessert wine for another glass of the aforementioned Cabernet.

Better look it up at Epicure- that's one of their regulars and often appears in the mixed dozens. Plus you'll get ample Qantas points
