How did all of these meals taste?

It would be nice to have a few comments about how these dishes fared (pun intended).

To be honest - nothing on the Eastbound Dinner menu interests me as a "Main Plate"... :(

Is that the menu published above?

Personally if I were on the flight, I would've likely gone for what boomy selected, or even the Nicoise Salad. The chicken salad small plate looks interesting enough to give a go, but for entree I would be prepared to try the daal (which can be horrible if not done right).

Of course, YMMV.

The cheese and spinach slice was ok, could be much better if served warm.
The baked eggs and chorizo were good.
The crepes with salmon and feta was a good dish but not exciting, something more suitable for island dining in the J lounge IMO.
The Dhal soup was one of the best I had on a plane.
The pulled pork was a very tasty dish.
Cheese was ok and mousse was very good, if you like the combination of salt and sweet.

I think the PER-SYD meal was of equal quality to an international J meal on QF.

I should add it was actually called a gourmet hot dog. Nothing you can do to a hot dog can be called gourmet. The hot dogs at Harry`s café de Wheels are of a better standard.

Absolutely delicious braised beef cheek with creamy mushrooms and polenta chips. Hands down best QF Domestic J class meal I've had!

Yum. That does look good! What route? Lunch or Dinner?

Lunch, (actually I think it was classified as refreshment on the website) ADL-ASP, on our way to AYQ via ASP for a quick holiday.

Hard to believe that's a refreshment based on my experience!

Lucky you if so! Beats the poached chicken salad!

Maybe the refreshment was only for Economy passengers, as I also got offered fresh warm breads, balantyne butter and maybe a little cake or dessert if I remember correctly.

Breakfast ADL – BNE consisted of eggs, chorizo, spinach, tomato and goats cheese.
The meal was served at a perfect temperature, the chorizo mildly spicy and the eggs soft and runny how I like them. All the components worked well together and it was nice not to have regular sausages for a change. I mixed the hand grenade of champagne with the orange juice and enjoyed it for breakfast.

Ballantyne was served instead of Lurpak.

Lunch BNE – TSV was poached chicken breast with a Waldorf salad. We both enjoyed the salad but not so the chicken, it was dry not moist and didn’t look appetising on the plate. I thought it looked like some lumps of chicken. At least the wine was delicious. I normally would drink a white with chicken but this light style red from the Adelaide Hills went down a treat. We actually “have a bottle” ;) at home to drink down the track sometime.

TSV – BNE Brunch. Mrs B had a toasted sandwich whilst I enjoyed Spinach Crepes with Salmon, Goats Cheese and Chives. When I was told this was a cold option I nearly changed my mind but thought why not give it a go. I am so glad I did as it was delicious! Not cold as such but room temperature. I convinced Mrs. B to try some, she was reluctant at first but then glad she did. No complaints however about her choice which she thoroughly enjoyed. Nice warm crispy toast with bacon, provolone cheese and caramelised onion. Although SWMBO did not partake, for me brekky on board would not be the same without a hand grenade.

BNE – ADL Dinner (?) Full as pigs after spending 3 or 4 hours in the BNE J lounge, I opted for the light option of sweet corn soup and Mrs. B for a cheese plate. Should have asked if there was any Noble 1 on board to go with it. The soup was very enjoyable, and yes it was perfectly sweet. I was surprised at the quantity as at first I thought the portion might be a bit small. I was pleasantly surprised as it was quite filling although I did have 2 slices of sourdough with it. Being a cheese fiend however, I could not resist finishing off SWMBOS cheese plate. Suffice to say neither of us had any dinner at home that night.

BNE/SYD afternoon refreshment. Choice of Hokkien noodle salad with honey soy chicken, cream of cauliflower soup or cheese box. Went with the salad. Was actually pretty tasty and surprisingly moist chicken meat. Definitely tastes better than it presents itself. It actually reminded me a bit more like those picnic lunches, i.e. you cook them but then eat them cold.

Side of passionfruit cheesecake and sourdough bread.

i'm sick to death of the soup or bloody cheese box mel > adl.

i actually dont mind the chicken walnut salad thing though

PER-SYD Dinner menu.

Same menu as the MEL-PER run on the 26th.

The chicken was a tad pedestrian for my liking, and I would have liked a larger bun for the pork (it was very tasty, I am being selfish in wanting more!). The wife did also enjoy her lasagna.

However, I am not sure if the dessert was loaded as the offer was for boysenberry marshmallows. The dessert on your flight looks infinitesimally better.

I would say (apart from the dessert), this offering was better than the previous dinner menu with the Burrito etc.
