Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Degraded flight CNS-BNE, from 719 Business to 1719 QantasLink 717 (which was full). L to R, pie, sausage roll, cottage pie, very hot, but very soft. Per previous QF experience, points adjustment will occur in about 6-8 weeks. (Unless I have to spend 3+ hours on the phone with them about another issue).
My CNS strategy of out VA (SQ), return QF (because of VA lounge closure in CNS ) has been disrupted.
At the risk of further QF "treatment" of CNS flights, I'm contemplating reverting to reasonably assured business flights on VA (forgoing the lounge insufficiency). 1st world quandary.

By the way what were the other option on the menu?
If I remember correctly chicken in mushroom sauce with mash potato, typical grain salad with prosciutto or the beef. Was very fortunate being in 3A and 3 D&F being served before us that all options were still left thanks to all of row 1 opting for the salad.

Delayed about 40 mins all up between the aircraft not being at the stand and waiting for 10 flights before us to take off. I was pretty disappointed by this flight. The crew did one round of drinks after the meal and then didn’t see them again with the exception of 1 flight attendant who came around with water. Last time I flew this service there was a pie or full sized salad but this time there was a ham and pesto toastie (which was tiny) or a salad which was also served on what looked like the bread plate. Still better then economy which got a chocolate brownie on this 3 hour flight. The crew were all very nice to the lady in 1A who had a problem with her seat by which the light just below the seat to show if it’s up correctly wasn’t working so every FA that passed adjusted the seat before moving on.

Unacceptable but that’s where the call button comes into play. Or if you must, hunt them down in the chit chat room called “galley”. I learnt long time ago- who shouts the loudest will receive. Zero bad feelings about it imho.

In the past have often been made to feel the troublemaker when using the call button on QF. SQ/EK/QR etc etc...no problem...what would you like sir...yes sir...how about biscuits with your tea sir...instead of a grunt...and it's nothing about being addressed as sir either, I don't even like that!!

Yes how dare the precocious passenger interrupt their reading of Hello magazine. What cheek!

Yep. When I flew LHR-DRW about 2 weeks after the borders opened I was getting plenty of eye rolls for having the nerve to ask for some service. Amazingly, heard a few of the crew remarking that it’s their “first flight in 18 months”. Amazing how quickly that qantas attitude comes back! Must be trained well.

Really struggle to fathom why people voluntarily pay to fly with them.

What mad it worse was the polar opposite experience on my flight to Sydney. The CSM and another flight attendant that was stationed at the front of the 737 were absolutely fantastic. Brent (I think) was nothing but helpful including heating up some bread and Vegemite for a young boy who had slept through the meal and didn’t want any of the meals anyways and always knelt down to his level when taking to him, putting water at everyone’s seat for when they woke up or pulling the crew chair down so I could sit down while waiting for the toilet. He also went through all the different types of tea on offer rather then assuming I’d want black tea.

Lasagne.

Nicest looking domestic J meal I've seen in a long while. Unfortunately didn't taste quite as good as it looked. Still a whole lot better then the series of trips I had previously with beef and/or pork stew and mash though.

I’ll assume you were on EBJ as this has been a defect in 1A for close to five weeks. I’ve been affected by it twice now. One wonders when they’ll bother to fix it…

Non-vegeterian options were the beef (pictured) or a butter chicken.
Currently onboard QF646 Perth to Sydney (12:45pm departure, A332), options are exactly the same as my flight here.

When I printed my boarding pass at the airport (1h45m before dearture), my seat was still 7A, as I had selected when booking this flight. However when I got to the gate, the machine spit out a new seat, 1E (non-window). I wasn't paged at the lounge or anything requesting that I move.

Later in the flight I went to check who was sitting in 7A, and it turned out to be a Qantas Staff member (in uniform)...

Ahhhh can just imagine the QF marketing confectionery crew slogan now...

Qantas...There's no US or ME in our Customer Focus, only U.....

Except of course when a staff member wants window seat....😳
