Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Not to mention the 25% sugar and 500% of the RDI of saltā€¦šŸ˜”

Didnā€˜t someone recently do an article on why airlines love that stuff? That cake could have been on its fifth turnaround before it got whacked onto your tray. Although, probably more likely down the back and the pay to eat snacksā€¦

Overall the meal resembles what would have been served in Y a few years back.
Utterly uninspiring.
To be honest, I'm surprised (and perhaps I shouldn't be surprised!) that Qantas still hasn't restored full trans-tasman catering (if they even intend on restoring it...).

The catering on transcons have been downgraded too, along with removed pillows, mattresses and blankets, but I kind of see that as a result of not having to compete with with VA anymore.

On trans-tasmans though, AirNZ still offers their full catering service in Business Class, along with pillows (and amenity kits sometimes*). I guess QF just doesn't care that they're not even competing with NZ on this?

As far as I'm concerned trans-tasman is nearly identical to domestic catering (I don't drink Alcohol, so for me any differences there don't affect me).

*In my experience it's only loaded like 50% of the time for PE/J on NZ TT.

MEL-ADL in J return. Both evening flights. Double lasagne on one flight (my little lad in tow fell asleep so I got his!). Was the only option available. Lasagne an option again on the return but went the black pepper beef. Have had both dishes a couple times over the past 12 months again thought they were good. Hard work trying to get through two lasagnes on a one-hour flight when you're last to be served in 3D and have 20 mins before descending but gave it a red hot crack. Love the Lindt bars.

The lasagne is decent comfort food, which QF does well. I mean, even the beef slop in the lounge is passable when there's meat in it.

PER-MEL QF774 from a week ago. IFE and seat controls was initially not working for everyone for the first 30mins of the flight. Three options including muesli and two egg based dishes for breakfast. No PDB and no pillows/blankest available.

I found the food on the SYD-SIN leg better quality than the SIN-LHR leg. Aussie crew on this leg also more attentive than the UK crew of the second leg.

The salad was better than the usual rocket leaves

The streak was crazy rare, leaching bloody juices when cut, would have prefered medium to well rather than rare to blue.

Mid flight french toast was revolting. Menu said chives but it tasted of corriander ewww and was more like a dry loaf nothing french toast like about it, two bites and i had them take it away, and had a packet of chips instead.

Breakfast was ok

That breakfast pic from the SIN-LHR flight - looks like they no longer cook the eggs from liquid in flight? They just warm the dish?

QF in F and J used to have great tasting eggs!

(although I note the last pic looks like the eggs of old!)

Im not a fan of scrambled eggs as you never know if real eggs or powdered, Id prefer poached or fried so there can be no doubt.

As point of comparison BA LHR-JFK

Noting that all AA provided to first clas spassegers JFK-ORD and ORD-DFW was a drink and a packet of crisps/popcorn or muesli bar.

Funny, I was the opposite on QF1 (8-9/8). Found the brioche bun inedible, just took out the filling. Envied my wife who had the scrambled eggs.
