Qantas Business Class meals & menus

No bread to go with your bread?
The 2 mini panini flat slices, she gave me a bit later, after pix was taken.
I was half dozing off, so maybe PDB was offered.
Woke up few mins into flight.
Meal service was late into flight as I was in row 3.
14.50 got meal, 15.03 was already top of descend.
Was late taking off, no pax got on till nearly take off time.
Lady next to me had toddler on lap, row 2 had 4 of same family with 1 toddler each, and it was a very full flight.

QF923 CNS to SYD lunch flight.

Drinks and pretzels served after take off. Lunch options were chicken with noodles or beef with potatoes. If you wanted vego you would have had to go for the Y meal. I opted for the beef, it was ok.

Meals seem these days to come with double lindt both a bar and a lindor ball.

Also after offering me choice, the FA asked thr bronze next to me if they wanted the chicken, said there was only 1 beef left and she was obliged to offer it to higher status pax in row 3, however if they didnt want it would give her first dibs.

FA on this flight is excellent, she also thoroughly policed J toilet sending the Y interlopers to the back everytime.

So so bad. I hate when this happens as I can't eat fish or seafood at all and Qantas is usually a safer option in this respect then say Singapore Airlines. But I hate pumpkin too so I would have been super disappointed!

Me too I am unable to eat any fish or seafood. I can do pumpkin but depends on how much garlic is in it

.

I know that this thread is about the food on the plane and I’ll add to this discussion again shortly. BUT, given we all like to whinge about Qantas, myself included, I just had to post about this:

I’m currently in the Perth Business lounge and the whole place started smelling like freshly baked pizza a few minutes ago. I’m used to the glibbery glib food at the Sydney Domesric lounge (if you can call that slob “food) or the arguably better but usually bland Asian fare in Melbourne so this is a revelation to me.

Qantas- please please please, can we get this in Sydney? Ideally everywhere? I promise I will fly even more often for this pizza feast. It not only looks and smells good, it also tastes excellent. Lots of gooey cheese, nice crust on the base and even condiments like chilli oil to spice it up. I’m in pizza heaven :p

It can be quite good there. Although last time I was there a few months ago (still “breakfast” so no pizza), I have to admit the J lounge was starting to look a bit tired in places and some of the extra bits were MIA. They used to have teapots with tea selections and other little extra things above the QP standard. I didn’t go around to the bar area so I don’t know what post Covid enhancements have been introduced there.

But at least the pizzas are still there. I wonder what specialty SYD J Lounge will eventually get? (and CBR - pretty sure it won’t be Pork Barrels…).

They could easily add Pizza ovens at all J lounges, less skill required to staff than a Spice Bar (or other specialities) and always popular with vegetarians and omnivors alike.

Last time i was in PER J the pizza was disappearing a quickly as it could be put out.

CBR J is just a lounge ... nothing more ... I wonder if the lounges get any refresh, CBR would potentially be one of the last ones? I think this because those that fly out of CBR are the *busy* types ... or that's how they seem to me at least ... the busy types might not notice if the lounge has anything good/exciting/new ... the lounge has become more a place to sit, other than the gate ...

I have seen this in SYD & MEL J, but not in CBR ... am I right in thinking that the tea pots are NOT there in CBR J?

Sorry, OT still but the CBR J is much newer than SYD but was already opened when MEL, PER and BNE got their makeovers.

Unless it was something uniquely Australian, you’re going to upset every other Embassy staff if they adopted another “international” cuisine in CBR! 😁

Thats the Perth theme, they ensure the culinary sophication matches the ability of the locals to appreciate same!

I don't believe you

4/5 times I was there, the lunch was "butter chicken" 🤣🤣 Guess some Embassy staff would have been offended for sure 🤣

Sorry, I should have been clearer ... the J lounge itself at CBR is good ... barring the one tile that has popped out and is wobbly as you enter the lounge and turn left to the facilities ... re : refresh - I meant more meal/food offering wise ... you know, like the pizza at PER or Spice Bar at MEL ... something that is *special* CBR only thingy ...

Yes, that’s the thing- pizza is relatively easy to make and the ingredients can be quite inexpensive (hence hardly a pub these days not having pizza on their menu- it has one of the best profit margins possible).

And I know it’s neither Palermo nor Chicago but an airline lounge in Perth. However, given that- it’s pretty good and tasty pizza!
