Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Had a very tender and perfectly medium rare steak on a recent flight to CGK. Hands down the best steak I've ever eaten in the air, beating QR, CX, BA J and even EK F. With more of sear I reckon it could've even passed on the ground.

Hopefully not a once-off fluke by QF catering.

It must have been good to be able to cut it so cleanly with perennially blunt Picnic Cutlery. 🙂

The pic above of the Super Sparkling (Lane Lois) wine reminded me of my own flight the other day. I am not sure when it happened, but they have indeed changed to minis (much like the Grant Burnt they used to use). Last year when it was introduced, iirc, they had full size bottles they served from but, like the pic above, I was served a mini the other day which surprised me a bit. The FA also said they had "two more with your name on them" lol. I only had one more (it was great service on that flight actually).

So not sure when the changed happened, but interesting nonetheless.
Can only assume it's a cost saving measure, so they're not left with an open half full 750ml bottle at the end of the flight (though if I were stuck in whY, would be very happy to help them out with that problem!) Shame though, always feel champagne /sparkling tastes better out of a full-size bottle.

IMG_2884.jpegIMG_2885.jpegQF650 PER-SYD now.

Credit where credit’s due. A pretty good offering.

Hokkien noodles with pork for me was tasty; chicken noodle salad for PJM,

Side pesto pasta salad was tasty but a bit too filling for us light eaters. We pass on bread.

Cheddar is light and pleasant.

Parker Coonawarra Cab Sav is good.

Chocolate will go home for grandy.

QF127 SYD-HKG on Boxing Day 2023:

Got free allocation of 1A, 1K, 2A, 2K (F Suites) on the new A380! That was the highlight, especially we booked as 4 * J QFF Classic Awards!!!!

The low light is the food. The beef steak was very oily and disgusting, and the Neil Perry-inspired salad, well, no need to say more.

I tried to attach photos but somehow I keep getting errors saying there is an issue on uploading photos. Does anyone know how to work around this?

QF121 SYD-ZQN out of SYD at 1000h.

Champagne PDB,

We chose the smoked salmon salad which made a nice light lunch.

The side salads are almost a meal in themselves. May the NP Rabbit Food never return! 😖

DeBortoli chardy with the salad and I had a Clonakilla shiraz with the cheese.

All quite acceptable. Good service.

Probably need to resize them to less than 1200px on the long edge.

Since upgrading the iPhone, they have rejected my images as too large. I now need to email them to myself, downsizing them to "medium" in the process, and then copying and pasting these revised images in.

Apologies if this comes across like I'm trying to teach you how to suck eggs, but hope this helps -:

Not a meal per sé, but I asked for a glass of the delicious Pinot Gris. Glass poured and I thanked CSM and went back to minding my own business. Next thing I notice is this bowl of just about all the snacks appear! I didn't ask but that's quite the effort!

fantastic brand in J - lmao

I suppose I should add that that flight was a "Refreshment" flight - options were a soup (Cauliflower iirc(, cheese plate or a beef pie.

I had had lasagne and Thai fish cakes in the lounge so didn't really need more food - hence only asking for a glass of vino.

I have an 820am SYD-PER flight next week, flying Business as a surprise treat on my daughter's 16th birthday. What can we expect for breakfast? Anyone got any recent photos? Thanks!

QF71 PER - SIN. just remembered the wine. Opted for Flowstone white and it was vile. Swapped for the Chardonnay which was much more appealing.

Flew business class ADL-SYD last year. Meal was just Y but on china plate. Better drinks choice and a couple of dinky additions. Not impressed. Have flows PER-SYD in J. Much better.

Flew BNE-PER in J yesterday on QF937. Lunch service (1305 departure). Boarding felt a little chaotic, but once settled in, small bottle of water as PDB. CSM Darren extremely attentive and hard working throughout. Multiple pre-meal drinks offered. Wines included Tempus Two Chardonnay, De Bortoli Fiano and a Pinot Noir of some sort. Mains on offer were chicken with a cream and lemon sauce, beef (?) or Niçoise salad. Ice cream offered later in the flight, and drinks kept on flowing!!IMG_5699.jpeg

Tempus Two do good work for the price point
