Qantas Business Class meals & menus

You didn't like it?

I had it MEL -> PER the other month and thought it was pretty good. Tasty comfort food. Thought it was good for Dom.

I've had this before too and while the chicken itself was nice, overall it was a bit underwhelming. I'd prefer a side of green beans or something with it.

Took a while to board, to the point I was only five minutes from the end of a short drama before take off ( why I like gate to gate)

Turkey and Cheese sandwich (interesting choice for Good Friday)

Little early for alcohol, although a champagne was on the cart

717. Lunch service
First time in business in a 717. Interestingly they have the full size iPads in Business, but only the minis in Economy. Sadly WiFi not turned on till we neared the runway.

Spanish style chicken and potato - selected - and it was very tasty with a good mix of spice
Japanese style salmon rice salad

Amberley Estate Secret Lane Margaret River Cabernet Merlot 2012(about $15)
Grosset Sem Sauv Blanc Adelaide Hills 2014 ($31 at DM)

BNE - Mt Isa yesterday afternoon. White fish and caper/ pesto sauce..no other option by the time the trolley got to 3A. Very nice though. Shaw and Smith 2014 sau Blanc went well with it.

It's OK for the local pub but not a proper J meal. The chocolate and pear tart was good. Other options were thai beef salad or selection of cheese.

Gee, yours looked much nicer than the one I got OOL-SYD on 4/4. There were a lot of bumps so kudos for the crew for getting any kind of service done.

The "White Chocolate Lammington" was yummy though :)

Bunny was a welcome surprise on Sunday's flight from BNE-SYD.

Snack was a mezze plate. Quite a nice refreshing change (but no photo).

Wise choice going for white during turbulence ;)

Got one of them yesterday on BNE-MEL.
J was not full so the CSM gave the extra bunnies to pax in row 4. Nice touch!

Chinese style braised chicken with noodles

A welcome upgrade to the boring ham & cheese sandwich, it was delicious!
The orange juice this morning was a 2014 vintage from the cool climate orchards of Goldburn Valley.

I'm glad it tasted good!

Some of the offerings here look a little underwhelming given the ticket price is more than an economy class return to Europe, or a full-flat business class return SIN-Europe!

So a MEL-SYD flight in J costs more than a run to Europe and back?

it does! I did a sample MEL-SYD return for friday week, fares were $949 each way. The economy fare australia-europe is based on a qantas return, but you could fly qatar for just $1330. SIN-Europe was based on a sri lanakan airlines special, full flat beds, qantas points and SC earn.

some of the recently posted meals appear to be catered for under a $1 or $2.

Extraordinary, isn't it, the margin on domestic business fares.

You haven't flown domestic US or europe much have you? :D

(I am referring to the food comment, not the price)
