Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Was Mrs SMJ's first Tom Yum soup, she found the flavor to be ok, but, quite spicy, she probably shouldn't have had the cracked pepper on top.

Had the Tom Yum soup for supper on SYD-BNE.
Loved the spicy flavour, was perfect with warm sourdough. It's a small dish, won't be enough for dinner but definitely suitable for 10pm departure.

Do these enhanced meals also apply to the trans tasman runs?
Not in my experience.
Definitely larger in size but IME the menu does seem to be frequently changed. Also you will have 3 courses, soup, main and dessert or cheese on top of the bagged snack and after dinner chocolate.

Check out today's lunch MEL/SYD.

The famous chicken salad or this omelette.

Yikes!!!!!

BNE- CNS afternoon snack. Mezze plate.

Also got to try the Tomato soup and cheese box... They had quite a bit of catering remaining.

Then Lasange for dinner CNS-SYD on Monday evening. It was quite tasty and glad to have some veggies rather than it just by itself.

Based on this Y snack MEL-BNE, I'd say $1 is being generous.

Mind you, these would probably be $6 value retail.

All meals in Dom Y except dinner are cough.
The point I was trying to make before is that J dinner cost about the same as Y dinner, just being served in a nice plate instead of a brown box ;)

Yes I don't think there is much difference cost wise Y or J catering, other than wine

(I know I got the wine order a bit wrong but didn't expect a third course).
The wines on offer tonight:
Cullen Sauv Blanc
Paringa Estate Chardonnay 2012
Heathcote Estate 'single vineyard' Shiraz 2013
All in all good dinner, enjoyed every dish and the wines were decent as well.

A mini lamington is the best they can serve for dessert? No wonder I normally ask for a Icecream bar to be brought up from Y.

Haha you and me both! Love the Bounty bars from Y :)
On the "much longer" return flight PER-SYD there was decent desert selection that included: Lemon meringue tart, Maggie Beer chocolate ice cream or Fruit platter.
