Qantas Business Class meals & menus

All of the above.

That aside, there is work being done. There was a whole bunch of trial flights as they start to revamp the service to make it quicker and are introducing some new service such as a bar service on supper flights.
I hope that their revamp is successful.

QF842 - SYD - DRW
SDT: 2035 - FT: 4:40
Pushed back and departed on time - after take off CSM came around with a drink before starting dinner service.

The cabin manager did apologise several times but only 1 option was loaded for this flight. It was described as prawn risotto but from a glance at my neighbours it appeared to be the paella mentioned previously. Unfortunately I'm allergic to prawns so declined. Things got worse as after serving 2A/C J was now out of food and the remaining 1/2 of the cabin has no meals left. I opted for some bread, and vegemite did appear later. Slept for the rest of the flight. Both J and Y had blankets and pillows upon arrival at seat.

QF1953 - DRW - ADL
SDT: 1845 - FT: 3:45

Boarded and pushed back ahead of schedule. Drink arrived shortly after take off with the standard almonds and pretzels. Two options for dinner, thai pork curry with rice or beef brisket with mac and cheese. Opted for the pork curry which I have has before. It wasn't as good as last time. Rice was mushy and the curry was very bland. Ice cream served about 1.5 hours later and despite the managers best effort. Watched her take them out at dinner service to defrost but it was still frozen solid. Overall last 2 flights have left me very disspointed :(.

Not enough meals for a business class cabin is disgraceful.

QF34 PER-SYD 789 VH-ZNK Aug 16 sched dep 1025 actual pushback 1055 takeoff 1106 (06). No reason given for the delay but presumably because of a fast flight time and wishing to avoid ATC enforced laps of Goulburn.

First time on the short leg of QF34, very nice to again be in real J on a SYD flight . Very good and friendly service from CSM Emma (who gave me the much appreciated WP welcome once we were up) and FAs Samantha and Michaela.

Prompt jacket hanging, and PDB of Jacquart on boarding.

Went with the beef stir fry which hit the spot nicely. No entree which was always the case on the (sadly late) QF10 to MEL, but managed to grab a cheeky small bowl of the potato and leek soup.

Tasted a little of the pinot noir, not too acidic but had a Campari-esque bitter aftertaste. Did not finish this, but then switched to the more tried and true territory of the Frankland Shiraz with the main, much better choice.

The excellent cheese platter from QF5 last month was again on offer to finish. Very good flight!

QF775 - Melbourne to Perth - 2:25pm departure

Options were Poached Chicken Salad, Thai Curry (Possibly with Prawns) and Beef Brisket with Mac n Cheese.

Went the brisket which was perfectly fine. Side salad was good and the bread was it's usual consistent self.

Crew were good.

BNE-SYD 15:15 737 service a few weeks back. (Was booked on and boarded the 13:15 flight only for our aircraft to be swapped out for no apparent reason - pilots and crew couldn't give an explanation - subsequently discovered an hour later the aircraft took off for Mackay - I guess there was a scheduling issue but seems bizarre, especially as pax and luggage were unloaded with a 2 hour delay. Was still given a J seat so grateful for that).

Options were lentil soup, cheese plate and ham and cheese croissant.

Croissant was reasonable. Not too dry. Very little cheese. Plenty of ham but it was the thin basic slices, all folded up and clumped together in the centre of the croissant. I get that food can move around in delivery but this was an obvious case of the person putting the food together just not caring at all.

Average service. Disappointing experience overall.

I agree. It's got that air of boarding school catering about it, unfortunately.

Qantas can do so much better in this area—new ideas are required. Neil Perry is into his third decade at the Airline, which seems to be run like a public service.

When I choose airlines, the quality of the food is just as important as other factors. Recently, I have become a fan of Turkish Airlines, and I really enjoy BA City Flyer. There you have it, Neil, some hints for you!

If you fly a lot and don’t want the crossiant you can ask for the snack from economy 😀

QF126 AKL-BNE

Chicken thigh with vegetables. Generally tasty and the broccoli was very good.

But another QF dish with black olives contaminating the actual food.

Have they not learnt from AA that omitting these unwanted Lego car tyres saves weight and therefore fuel = greater profit!?

I still don't get why they use words "plant based dining" surely just a ☘️ plant symbol would suffice.

Also interesting how they have the soup with and without cream in the above menu.

Or just use the near universal (in English speaking countries) abbreviations like V, VG, DF, GF, etc.

Offering soup with and without creme fraiche is something they've been doing since the introduction of plant based dining
