Scrambled eggs (burnt to a powder), bacon (soggy and wafer thin) with beans and spinach. Inedible.

These scrambled eggs look suspiciously like what I got served at St. Vincent’s Private hospital the other week when I was down with pneumonia. Suspect it was always powder, rather than proper eggs.

What Qantas charges and what St. Vincent’s fleeces my health fund for- makes total sense, serve the cheapest of the cheapest

I hope you are well. The fact that you are not in Berlin with cold, miserable weather makes no sense because catching pneumonia in sunny Victoria (Melbourne) makes it even more nonsense. I hope you get better as quickly as possible.

Yes, this is fantastic. I cannot see Qantas doing the same thing; however, they do a bottle of wine by gifting it in hand when deboarding, though this is very irregular. Whilst on Cathy, eggs are cracked for breakie every day!

I have quite a different expectation from QF domestic J to a CX long haul F.

Heck even QF international J has decent eggs, not sure if cooked fresh though.

I haven't flown first, so I don't know if QF first serves real eggs. i.e. This means they are cracked and made to order in the galley!

Scrambled eggs - loaded mixed but cooked fresh onboard
Poached - pre cooked, chilled, then blanched to heat when required

From memory it was all pretty tasty though I was not too hunger from hitting the lounge earlier so only ate a bit of each dish.

Thank you very much for the kind words- I’ve been released from hospital and am slowly recovering. I actually caught it in Bali over the Xmas break

My partner and I caught HPIV3 in Bali in mid December which led to pneumonia We have mostly recovered now but it was a shocking few weeks

QF22 Sun 19th Jan’25. Early start to dinner 1.5 hrs after take off. Halibut was fresh, moist possibly the best fish I have had on QF. Spoilt with cheese & 2 deserts. Panna cotta was a little grainy but flavoursome. Tasty large cheese serve.

Late post as trying to recover from a cold after lots of fun doing powder runs . 19 Jan QF 60 HND-SYD. I normally take Japanese set and have not been disappointed until now. Crew super friendly and efficient and quick to offer top ups is desired and meals arrived promptly and cleared away. Appreciated as I actually needed to sleep this time. CSM Adrian came by for personal greeting. Seems to be very consistent thing now after taking so many flights the past 4 months. PDB offered. My feedback is the tonkatsu pork mains is not like any tonkatsu I’ve ever had and it certainly does not resemble one either …. I’ll give the benefit of doubt that the menu got it wrong. It was edible but not being a pork fan did not enjoy this way of cooking pork. The appetizer box as usual is the highlight of the meal always. Skipped the alcohol as I enjoyed nicer ones in the F JAL lounge.

Opted for the 1 hour out prefilled breakfast order of muesli breakfast now that it comes with oat milk option. A win for me. And I can avoid the burnt brioche bun. Actually i happened to be awake a bit earlier and was offered to be served earlier if i wanted it. Liking that green juice a lot too. Nice also to be on the plane that has the espresso machine otherwise i avoid the watery coffee.

20 Jan QF441 SYD -MEL. Managed to get on earlier connection, so rather than a tired 737 got a semi tired A330-200. Options of a soup I think it was pumpkin or the beef ragu pasta. It’s lunch, so went for the beef ragu pasta that was delicious. Hit the spot, could not fit in that slice of sourdough after all. Wine was a Shiraz. Was actually very drinkable and was offered a top up but declined.
