Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I wonder how Catering and Neil actually get their feedback?
CSM sending pax comments?
The airline loads as many meals as there are passengers so an offering which is less popular gets taken by the last passenger as there is no other choice. Catering sees all meals taken so assume it must have been ok.
On the other hand untaken meals might just mean the passenger is not hungry rather than a problem with the dish

It works exactly like that, people comment or complain about not getting their meal choice, then the % are changed around. Happens quite a lot actually, especially when the meal cycle changes around. CSM should be using their app on their iPad doing a report, and that gets sent to who ever deals with it all.

Is it just me or is the trans con flights food getting worse and worse every trip?

Coming back to Perth was no better, some mexican cough for breakfast that most people sent back. The best option was a croissant

I have had the Mexican cough a number of times and have enjoyed it

Had a croissant today and it was great. Haven't flown J for years. Now that I've flown it I'm tempted to use points to try to do it a bit more often.

I'm afraid it was swill instead of the GB on QF772. Following is the menu and the meals

I loved the salmon

The shank had good flavour but a touch dry

6 May cbr-syd QF1522. I generally like the refreshments on this run in J - usually very light and small (which is a good thing on this quick hop). This time is was a brisket "salad". Actually brisket on noodles with some dressing on it. Don't have a picture. I know brisket is on the salty side, but this just about blew my taste buds off. So I would avoid this one unless you like salt.

First up, G+T with Brazil nuts & pretzels. Brazil nuts are the worst...

For the main, options were:

Roast beef and grilled mushroom toasted sandwich
Chicken and sweet corn soup
Some sort of potato salad

Wine options were a Shaw & Smith Sav Blanc and Punt Road Cab Sav.

The dessert was a passion fruit tart.

I actually quite liked the sandwich, however, if you are going to serve a toasted sandwich in J on the flight, maybe toasted sandwiches shouldn't be virtually the only option available in the QP/JLounge prior to the flight...

The Cab Sav was OK, but after one glass... I went back to the G+T.

Welcome to carb city:

These were the same food options yesterday on my flight SYD - ADL.
Not sure what the wine was as I decided to have bourbon & coke.

At first I was dubious about the food offering but decided to try the sandwich. Must say I found it quite delicious and filling.
I was even offered a second sandwich but declined as I was full.

Tenderloin on QF496 yesterday- it was pretty good for an inflight steak (the blue mood lighting hasn't helped the photo)

I've also had the sandwich before and thought it was a delicious comfort food. The smell of the grilled mushroom and cheese filled the cabin and made everyone quite hungry!

No bad quality good?

Flew Mel-Syd on Saturday on the 5.00pm service in business....flight was a dinner flight but no hot meal offered and only soup or cheese....quite frankly hugely disappointed and the only redeeming feature was the great food in the lounge....this was a paid for flight so really no value....Qantas needs to lift its game...hmm

While this is true, it's perhaps worth noting that this flight is listed as a "dinner" flight on the Qantas website. How is a customer supposed to know when booking the flight that the dinner service only applies to economy class?

You are quite right. It doesn't make sense

Sat 13.00 dep MEL - SYDd is not considered lunch either.
Maybe weekday service would have been substantial.
Refreshments was announcement on in flight PA.
No pix.
Pulled beef with vermicelli, lightly chilli as in it had a hint of sliced chilli with Vietnamese mint.
One cupcake.
One sliced bread and butter.
No fruit plate or ice cream.
At least it was an airbus 330.
Some dom QF 737s now don't have curtains between J and Y and even if they have, they aren't closed anymore during flights.
