QF611 BNE-MEL

Best breakfast in the sky. The bean salsa thing was a hit. Bacon juicy, mushrooms perfect.
Mrs NAILZ loved the bagel.

Incredibly all the flights taken on QF, Scoot, Bangkok Airways and Finnair on the recent trip were all on time.

Menu FYI for QF296 (Finnair) PE BKK-SYD

Interesting, it looks like they've removed the "Plant-based Dining" label from their vego options on the new menus? I was on QF62 mid last month and it was still there.

Looking back at recent menus posted, it looks like it was dropped sometime mid-November when the new menus started to drop with the... ahem... interesting font.

Thanks for sharing and it continues to amaze me that in J you get warm mid-flight snacks while in F all you can get is some potato chips or chocolate bars between meals on this route. And its not like QF is offering anytime dining in F either...
They have had the steak sandwich in F for a while. Every time I've had it, it's definitely been warm.

If you ask in F for any hot snacks they’ll gladly prepare them for you!

It's sad how cheap the glossy paper menus look.

And I'm nit picking here, but there's something off putting about a menu describing something as a 'big bowl of...'

Me and Mrs TY24 are about to travel to Europe for the new year (first long haul international trip in J for me, very excited). We're flying over on EK and returning on QF. Will be interesting to compare the two products.

The menus are pretty much the same style as they have been for several years. Nothing wrong really. What they don’t have, that many other airlines do is a seperate wine list. Instead, it’s the lucky dip on the day.

I did 20 nights on a Virgin cruise ship this year and pretty much everything had that sort of description.

I think you’ll find both fine. Just wear sunglasses on EK to protect your eyes from the bling! 😂

Many here rave about QR, but several recent flights this year and the food has been awful but the service is top notch. I think I’d prefer relaxed and edible.

Hoping we get a refurbished set of A380's with the more muted interiors, but again that's just nitpicking. I'm just grateful to be flying in J really.

The appeal of EK over QR was that being ex-PER, we can't get QSuites so the hard product is much of a muchness. Being able to book QF coded EK metal was the kicker, 240SC on EK vs 180 on QR from memory.

I'll be sure to get photos of the meals on both carriers.

With the Crudites how can that possibly be Vegan or even Vegetarian with Goats Cheese?

It appears they are claiming Vegetarian status for that dish - VG would indicate Vegan.
It could be considered vegetarian if a non-animal rennet is used in production of said cheese, something that is becoming more common these days.

That would be great, but first of all it should be listed on the menu and it is also not my experience flying QF 12 earlier this year where the crew member strongly behaved as "doing me a favour" by organising a warm snack from J (and of course no item from the F menu was available) for me sitting in 1 A.
