Qantas Business Class Upgrade - MEL -> SIN

Just arrived at Singapore Airlines First Class Lounge. Absolutely mind blown by the service and setup. It’s worth all the extra money/miles compared to business class.
First Lounge or Private Room?

I realised after searching the same thing for first that no one cares and in fact the higher the class the less likely they are to dress up.

Nice, I'll also be there (in tracksuit pants) on Wednesday. Getting quite OT but would you mind sharing a pic of the menu? I'm not sure how often it changes. Maybe more appropriate to post it over in the SQ subforum though.

You will love it. Qantas really needs to improve their Melbourne business class lounge—it hasn't changed at all since the last time I was there, and that was years ago.

Yes sir! I realised after searching the same thing for first that no one cares and in fact the higher the class the less likely they are to dress up.

Private Room.
FWIW
If travelling for work, I enter lounges in a suit, then prior to leaving change into
tracksuit pants/board shorts/t-shirt etc.

Some lounge reception staff have a puzzled look when I say good bye.

I rarely dress up for the flight, therefore, on arrival; however, it would depend upon the schedule, which is (generally) well managed.

Singapore Airlines first class was outstanding. Definitely would fly again. Australia have a lot of work to do. Their customs clearance process is still very antiquated. Singapore swipe passport, put right thumb stand still for 2 seconds and walk through.

Are you referring to the written immigration card?

Yes, the entire process. 12 bays, waiting in line, to print some low resolution paper. Only to then wait in a queue and give your landing card (paper written down). In Singapore on the runway, I completed form with the QR code online and walked straight through.

I agree with you; we seem to be mired in the last century. Governments of ALL persuasions are responsible for this, and we, as voters, don't drive the MAGA (make Australia great again) deal.

Superb menu for sure - but as I have said previously also re Qantas: Why do airlines not take beer seriously for people like me who do not drink Wine & Bubbles. Tiger & Heineken - seriously??? The choice of Gin is also rather underwhelming.

Agree on the beer.
Airlines seem happy to spend money on wine and most spirits but offer up the worst beers

Tiger & Heineken - seriously???

Strangely, the First lounge next door to the Private Room has a draft machine dispensing Crossroads Lager but that's not offered in TPR. It's not amazing, but it's better than a can of Tiger.
