Qantas Business Rewards [Replaces Aquire]

Reached level 3 yesterday - cut off is tonight. Should I be excited?

Depends on what you get excited about. I have been L3 since the change (QBR Inception). What I have noticed:
  • No difference in QBR international fares to what is available to the general consumer. There maybe something in the T's and C's but I have not read these.
  • Need to watch out for changing flights via QFF site and QBR site they are not integrated and changes via QFF will cost you more. Retail Vs Business.
  • The difference in Red Deals in inconsequential.
  • Vouchers either purchased during a promo or flight cancellation (I refuse to pay $100 cancel fees on a full Y ticket) will need a call to to the QF CC and normally ends in a HUCA depending on the operator.
  • Points difference between L2 and L3, again inconsequential domestic and to a lesser degree international. I tend to earn points faster than I can spend them.
I think QF have made an effort to improve the program, however nothing to get 'excited about'. Your experience may be different to mine.

Have you noticed that when you book through the Business Rewards portal that the seating plan doesn’t recognise flyer status? You have to go back into the usual Qantas website to be able to select forward seats.

Yes, QF ITS is something to behold and not in a good way.

I was contacted by them this year asking why I hadn’t booked much through their portal but just through QF and then added ABN. I said it always made for a duplication of effort to get the right seat selected for status. The operator knew of the issue. They know but don’t fix. I’ve not noticed much price difference when I’ve done the comparison although I did book through them last week.

I've got no use for them at the moment with a DSC inspired booking regimen until next year. I collect the couple of hundred extra QFF points for all my sectors and that's it

Same here. The thing I don’t like about ticking the ‘business’ booking is that when proceeding through the booking it doesn’t show the stored credit cards in the normal Qantas account and in seat selection it doesn’t recognise any status so seats offered are at the back of the bus.
